Whitt Hits Top Form

Jaden Whitting's fifteen three figure scores was unbeaten in a dominant 11-0 Monday Premier League win for Tradesmans over Colebrook.

Whitting was also one of two 180 hitters in the match with Andy Bates brace of three treble visits adding to his thirteen ton haul.

John Mann and Mike O'Brien rained down the heavy artillery on the Stonehouse side's opponents with twelve tons each, whilst the brutal demolition wasn't just all about the scoring phase.

Bates (29.47) won 3-0 with legs of 14 and 16 darts before Mann's 3-1 triumph was anchored by 17 and 18 darters.

Fred Goldsmith provided his team's second 16 dart leg of the match in a 3-0 triumph before Whitting won the final tie 3-2 thanks to legs in 18 and 13 darts.

Such was the form of the reigning champions and runaway leaders, Colebrook only heard 'game shot' called four times in their favour; one of which saw Dan Giles check 116 in a single visit.

George Beckett's thirteen ton plusses wasn't enough to stop his B team from succumbing to a 6-5 defeat to their A team rivals in the Cherry Tree derby.

Mike Whatley teamed with Matt Nicholson to fire a 20 dart 601 doubles leg before Whatley and Beckett met in the individual phase.

Beckett came out on top; a 3-2 winner with a 16 darter the perfect riposte to Whatley's leg in 18 before the A team led for the first time in the match when Gary Clarke won 3-1 with the match score tied at 5-5.

Jayden Dodd added twelve tons in an 8-3 success for Octagon A over Victory B whilst teammate Alfie Ford rounded off his ten ton haul with a 101 checkout and a maximum.

There was a sprinkling of short legs in the match; the best of which coming from Ford's 17 darter in a 3-0 triumph.

That was matched by Scott Cook in his 3-1 success whilst Ford's teammate Paul Palmer added an 18 darter during his 3-2 win over Paddy Archibald who threw his team's only maximum in the defeat.

Paul Goundry fired a 101 checkout to match Ford's effort, which was only bettered by a 104 from Cook in the aforementioned win.

Lewis Dare (25.05) was the most consistent individual competitor on display by some distance with a more than admirable average in his 3-0 success.

Tony Tasker top scored with twelve tons to lead Victory A to a 6-5 win over Octagon B; Tasker supported by a ten ton haul from teammate Quinton Taylor.

Tasker added the only maximum of the match to his haul whilst his success wasn't curtailed to the scoring phase as an 81 checkout provided the highest checkout of the contest.

A 3-0 win for Taylor in the individual phase of play was accented by a leg in 16 darts that claimed the best leg of the match.

The Bluebird derby match between A and B was dominated by the performance of Jack McMinn who anchored the A team to a 7-4 win over their stablemates.

McMinn's teammate Keith Whitley checked 80 in a single visit for the highest checkout of the match whilst Stuart Couling provided the B team's only moment of magic with a maximum.

Glenn Halford's ten ton haul included the highest checkout of 113; a feat that led Bluebird C to a 9-2 win over Victory C.

Andrew Cook nailed ten tons in a 9-2 win for King Billy over Indian Inn; one of those was one of the three maximums in the match.

Cook's teammate Antony Hayman provided the other for his team whilst the only moment of magic from the visitors was a Danny Bull maximum.

In the finishing stakes, Antony Hayman providing the best legs of the match with 18 and 16 darters whilst Cook's 74 providing a modest but respectable high checkout.
