Whatley Crew Open Campaign With Win

Mike Whatley's unbeaten thirteen ton haul in the Monday Premier League came during a 6-5 win for Cherry Tree A at home against Colebrook.

Whatley was well supported by Paul Freeman who nailed eleven tons whilst Matt Nicholson was also prominent with ten three figure scores.

Nicholson and Whatley topped up their ton tallies with the Pennycross side's only 180s whilst Andy Bond joined teammate Karl Arrowsmith in achieving the same feat for the defeated side.

Whatley's 115 checkout and legs of 16 and 18 darts couldn't arrest his slide to a narrow 3-2 singles loss at the back end of the match, which helped make the score line respectable for the Plympton outfit.

Alfie Ford and Paul Palmer both starred in Octagon A's 7-4 win over King Billy B with twelve tons a piece whilst Scott Cook added ten three figure scores for the defeated side.

Cook's tally was ticked over to the double figure mark with his side's only maximum of the match whilst Lewis Dare added a brace of maximums for the victors from Stonehouse.

Dare also fired the best game of 501 with an 18 dart leg during his 3-0 singles win whilst Ford and Burkitt paired to put together a 19 darter in the 601 doubles.

George Beckett led the way for Cherry Tree B with eleven tons that provided the catalyst for a 6-5 win at Indian Inn.

Beckett added a maximum and the highest checkout of 115 to his total, an effort that bettered Harry Bull's 80 kill in a single visit.

Lee Wyatt could count himself unlucky to end on the wrong side of the narrow defeat after eleven tons of his own.

Wyatt's 17 dart leg proved crucial in a 3-2 success whilst Beckett's legs of 17 and 13 darts helped him to a 3-1 individual triumph.

Dale Halford started the new campaign with eleven tons but still couldn't stop Bluebird A from slipping to a 7-4 loss as the Compton side were downed by Victory.

The four maximums in the game were shared equally between the two sides as Halford's teammates Owen Cook and Wayne Oddie both joined Quinton Taylor and Alex Roach in hitting 180s.

Luke Johnson was a ten ton hitter for the victorious side whilst three legs in 18 darts littered the individual phase of play.

Taylor fired one of the trio in a 3-1 win whilst Stuart Couling and Halford both checked in six completed visits during respective 3-2 and 3-1 wins.

Antony Hayman's eleven tons led King Billy A to a comeback victory over Octagon B that was secured 6-5 on the last game by Kev Lofthouse despite being as many as 4-2 down.

Chris Edgcumbe also added eleven tons for the defeated visitors whilst Hayman joined teammate Lisa Hellings in putting a 180 onto the scoreboard.

Edgcumbe succumbed to Andrew Cook in the individual phase 3-1 in a match that saw both players hear 'game shot' called after throwing 16 darts.

The only game of 501 to better those legs was in a 3-0 win for Hayman (30.06) who checked a 15 darter to join legs in 17 and 18 darts.

Hayman's checkout of 106 narrowly bettered Lofthouse's finish of 100 in the 3-1 win that took the spoils in the eleventh and deciding game of the night.

Six 180s lit up Tradesmans opening day 9-2 home win against Bluebird B with ten ton John Mann adding a brace of those efforts.

Glenn Halford was the only 180 hitter for the defeated side on his way to ten tons of his own whilst a trio of Mann's teammates also heard a maximum called after throwing.

Simon Washington added to Andy Nation's effort whilst Jaden Whitting's maximum was also joined by the highest checkout of the week; a 115 single visit kill.

Lee Agar opened up the individual phase with an 18 darter in a 3-0 win whilst Mann fired an 11 dart leg during his 3-1 success in the very next game.

Washington checked a brace of legs in 17 darts during his 3-1 success whilst Whitting was a 3-0 winner with the help of an 18 dart leg of his own.
