What A Sight For Sore Eyes

The Steve Chapman 501 League came to a close with the standout performance coming from Mike Whatley in Cherry Tree B's 9-2 win over Cherry Tree A.

Whatley added sixteen scores of a ton or more to Scott Wapshott's eleven three figure visits, which clearly made the difference in the match result.

Mark Shears was the only 180 hitter for the designated 'away' team for the evening whilst the A team had James Farrell firing a maximum of his own.

Simon Wilbraham found scores of at least three figures in eleven visits for the defeated team whilst teammate Luke Beard was also in good form with ten tons.

The best checkout of the thirty-three finishes in the game also came from the side on the end of the loss as James Ewing fired a 134 combination out.

Andy Waters banged in fourteen ton plusses but still found himself on the wrong end of an 8-3 defeat as Cherry Tree C bettered Waters' Tradesmans 8-3.

Nick Bryant's boys narrowly missing out on third place outright due to those three dropped points but he still managed a 180 and an 18 dart leg during his 3-0 singles win.

Steve Mills showed his finishing prowess for the joint third best team on a Tuesday with a 100 single visit checkout.

Eleven tons from Paul Palmer and a 90 kill by teammate Dave Johns were the highlights of Kings Arms 7-4 win at Victory Hammers whilst Victory Fireballs finished their season off with an 8-3 win over Ivybridge Con Club.

Bluebird's talismanic duo Alan Masters and Jack McMinn were recipients of calls for scores of one hundred plus on eleven and ten occasions respectively during a 7-4 win at Fawn A.

The difference between Masters and McMinn during this match in the scoring phase of play was a 180 that was plundered by the former.

Masters opened in the individual phase with a 3-0 success that contained a leg in 18 darts before McMinn went one leg better to claim a 17 darter during another 3-0 triumph.
