Twenty Not Out For Billy Boyz

Champions elect King Billy stretched their unassailable lead at the top of the Plymouth City Super League to thirty-six points as they claimed their twentieth straight win; a 10-1 triumph over Steampacket.

Antony Hayman was at his pulsating best as the King Billy stalwart chalked up no fewer than fourteen three figure scores, including the game high finish of 110.

Hayman was ably backed up by John Mann's ten ton plusses; some of which helped him towards a 27.33 singles average thanks in part to legs of 17 and 18 darts.

The four 180s in the contest were shared between the two teams with Paul Palmer and Andy Bates striking for the victors whilst Kev Doel joined Matt Thompson in achieving the feat.

Thompson was undoubtedly the star man for the defeated Devonport side as he put fourteen three figure scores on the scoreboard which helped him to a 3-1 singles victory.

Mark Williams top scored with twelve tons in his Victory B team's 7-4 home defeat to Raffles whilst teammate Richard Wheatley added ten.

However, both would end up of the losing side of individual battles with Harry and Danny Bull who scored maximums at crucial times to give them their wins.

Their teammate Adam Fell also added his name to the maximum column in his 3-1 triumph over the Honicknowle side's Kieran Harris, who also added a 180 of his own.

Harry Bull wasn't content with just the maximum as he added a 110 finish, which was the highest checkout of the match.

Players and spectators alike had the privilege to witness a Reg Matthews scoring masterclass as he notched twelve ton plusses in Saltram's 9-2 win over Kings Arms A.

Matthews' teammates Dave Algar and Damian Chalmers also contributed to the heavy win with an 80 checkout and a maximum respectively.

One of the two points won by the Oreston team came at the hand of newly capped Devon youth player Liam Page who got his first win in this league; a 3-2 success over one of Saltram's star players, Simon Kelly.

Lee Doncaster added a maximum to the twelve tons he threw in Colebrook's 8-3 defeat against Octagon.

Alfie Ford was the star of the show for the Stonehouse team with ten ton plusses; one of which was the highest checkout of the week, a 113 kill.

Lee Hellings 100 checkout narrowly beat Neil White's 95 to second place in this contest's finishing stakes whilst Hellings added two 18 darters in a 3-1 singles win that keeps him on course to take the league's individual title.

Teammate Dave Pethick added the only maximum score of the night for the Octagon on a successful night that moved the Octagon up to second in the standings.

Roger Backway chalked up no fewer than eleven three figure scores and a fourteen dart leg in Kings Arms B's 6-5 victory over Cherry Tree.

Dave Johns secured the winning point in the tenth tie of the night and added a maximum to his 88 checkout on a good night personally, and for the Oreston based team.

Fourth placed Victory C made light work of their trip to Ker St as they came away with a 10-1 win that was largely thanks to ten tons from both Paul Gavican and Lewis Dare.

One of Gavican's ten was a 100 checkout whilst Dare was one of four men to hit maximums on the night as he joined teammates Scott Cook, Paul Flower and Ker St's Paul Takle in achieving the feat.

That win edged the Honicknowle side one point ahead of Bluebird A who came away from their trip to Victoria with a 9-2 win.

Town's 18 darter in his singles was the lowest of the contest whilst Sarah Brown chalked up a game high finish of 94 for the defeat visitors from Keyham.

Mark Sargeant scored a brace of maximums in the Fawn derby, which ended with the A team triumphing 9-2 over Sargeant's B side.

Simon Stevenson added his name to the maximum column and also finished legs in 14 and 15 darts in a 3-0 singles win for the victorious Fawn A.

Bluebird Bandits had Dale Halford in good form in their 9-2 win over bottom side Hyde Park as Halford threw the only maximum and an 86 finish; the largest of the contest.
