Tradesmans Mike-ing O'Brien's Performance
Mike O'Brien (26.37) was the undoubted star of the Monday Premier League game week with a brilliant individual performance that led his Tradesmans team to a 10-1 win over Cherry Tree A.
O'Brien nailed a 17 darterin his 3-0 singles win, which ended with him being there top scoring player in the match after a thirteen ton haul.
O'Brien also teamed with Lee Agar (28.62) to put together two 21 dart 601 legs in the doubles phase; one of which ended with a 100 checkout from O'Brien.
O'Brien was well supported throughout by Jaden Whitting who added eleven scores of a ton or more to his tally whilst the only 180 went the way of Simon Washington.
O'Brien's three figure outshot was one of four in the match as Agar nailed a 122 combo that was matched by Matt Nicholson who also added a 116 in a 3-2 win for the defeated team.
After O'Brien's aforementioned 3-0 win opened the individual phase, Agar was a winner by the same score line with a 17 darter of his own his best effort.
Washington blew both of those games out of the water with a leg thrown in just 12 darts during another 3-0 victory.
Lee Hellings was the undoubted star of the show for Octagon A when racking up fourteen three figure visits in a 9-2 win over Victory.
Paul Palmer made a massive dent in the scoring phase of play with eleven ton plusses whilst Hellings and Ford both showed their class in the individual phase.
Hellings was a 3-1 winner thanks in part to legs in 16 and 18 darts and Ford added an 18 darter during a 3-0 triumph whilst Luke Johnson fired the only maximum of the contest.
Jayden Dodd's thirteen scores of a ton or more couldn't arrest Octagon B's slide to a 7-4 defeat during their visit to Legends Lounge.
Sean Taylor did the most damage in that success with a twelve ton haul and teammate Lewis Byrne' eleven three figure visits played a decent supporting role.
Dave Barton's 91 combination out shot was the best checkout of the game whilst a 16 darter from Taylor lit up his 3-1 individual triumph.
Dan Giles fired eleven tons to lead Colebrook to an 8-3 triumph during their visit to Cherry Tree A who had Paul Hoare and Marc Webber producing moments of magic.
Webber fired a 98 checkout and Hoare was the game's only 180 hitter whilst Giles teammate Andy Bond chalked up the best leg of 501 with a 17 darter in a 3-1 defeat to Hoare.
Eleven tons rained down from the arm of Andrew Cook which helped King Billy to a 7-4 success against Bluebird A.
The man that defeated Cook in the individual phase of play, Al Masters, added one of the five 180s to the scoreboard.
Masters won that aforementioned individual game 3-2 in spite of a 17 dart leg from Cook whilst teammate Ryan Stubbs added his name to the 180 column of the result sheet.
Cook's teammates Paul Goundry, Paul Gavican and Scott Cook all bagged themselves a maximum whilst Scott Cook also showed promise in the finishing phase of play.
Cook's 142 and 126 checkouts were the best kills of the evening and he teamed well with Goundry to produce a leg in 18 over the 601 distance.
That bettered a 20 darter in the same 601 pairs phase of play from Paddy Archibald and Ant Pearn whilst Goundry also showed his class in the singles with a fine 16 darter in a 3-0 triumph.
