Tinker, Taylor, Victory Flies

A 7-4 Monday Premier League success for Victory at Octagon B was their first double-yew of the new season with a display from Quinton Taylor dominating the affair.

Taylor (27.33) shone in a 3-0 individual success that contained a 16 dart leg and also topped his personal ton total up to the ten mark by the end of that affair.

Chris Edgecombe was the best scorer for the defeated team with twelve scores of a ton or more and earned a creditable win over Tony Tasker.

Tasker added a 16 dart leg and one of his own team's two maximums in that aforementioned 3-2 loss whilst teammate Scott Lawrey also showed moments of his very best.

Lawrey added an 81 checkout, which was the best finish of the matchup and claimed his team's second maximum of the contest.

John Mann fired champions Tradesmans to a 9-2 win over Colebrook thanks to fifteen scores of a ton or more throughout the tie.

Mann was supported well in the scoring phase by Fred Goldsmith who secured twelve tons overall whilst three of his teammates spread five 180s between themselves.

Mike O'Brien added a brace of maximums to two more by Alec Turner and Jaden Whitting heard '180' called once after throwing.

Zak Smith performed well for the defeated away side with ten ton plusses whilst in the finishing section of the game, his teammate Nick Furneaux's 105 kill wasn't bettered by any of the twelve on show.

The first leg of Mann and Whitting's doubles phase 2-1 triumph came in just 16 darts over the 601 distance whilst the singles continued in the same way.

Smith defeated O'Brien in the singles phase with a leg in 17 giving the latter his solitary chalk mark whilst Mann's 15 darter came in a 3-1 victory.

Washington rounded off the night and rampant home side triumph with a 3-0 success that came with the help of a leg in 18 darts.

King Billy were 6-5 winners over Octagon A with Ant Pearn's thirteen ton plus haul steering the narrowest of successes.

Pearn was supported well in the scoring phase of play by Scott Cook who added eleven tons whilst Andrew Cook walked away with a ten ton personal total, which was accented by his team's only maximum.

Alfie Ford added one of the defeated side's 180s to his eleven tons overall whilst Lee Hellings joined the three treble visit club with one that topped his ton total up to the ten mark.

Paul Palmer's maximum gave the visitors from Stonehouse a trio of maxis whilst there was an abundance of highlights during the business end of legs.

Scott Cook's 120 checkout was the best of the week across all fixtures whilst Darren Smith's 108 was the best effort from his six strong cohort.

Palmer was a 3-1 winner in the individual phase thanks in part to a leg in 17 whilst Pearn got his 3-1 win with a 16 darter his best.

With the score line looking precarious at 5-4 to the away side, Scott Cook stepped up with a 3-1 win that saw him check in 18 and 16 darts to leave it down to Andrew Cook to bring home the bacon.

And Cook didn't disappoint with another 3-1 success that contained superb games with his best legs coming in 16 and 17.

Glenn Halford added a 180 to a ten ton tally for Bluebird B in their 9-2 win at Cherry Tree A that saw the finishing stage of legs lit up by Halford and a trio of his colleagues.

Halford's 3-0 win was accented by a 15 darter whilst teammate Nick Perring checked in 16 twice during another 3-0 win.

The only finish to better a 92 by Dan Hurley was Glenn Austin's highest checkout of the matchup, which was polished off at the first time of asking from 97.

A 10-1 Legends Lounge home win against Cherry Tree A was dominated by the form of Lewis Byrne who added two 180s to his night's work.

Byrne fired a 16 darter in his 3-0 win whilst teammate Sean Taylor added a leg in 18 that proved crucial in a 3-2 triumph.

Del Bryce also showed his class in the finishing stage of play with an accomplished 114 checkout that helped him to one of a trio of legs in a 3-0 victory.

Wayne Oddie was the hero of the hour for Bluebird A in a 6-5 win over Indian that came down to a 3-1 singles win from Oddie in the final singles rubber.

Oddie put on one of the two maximums of the game in that individual success whilst Eddie Bull was the only recipient of a '180' call after throwing.

A checkout of 112 by Oddie's teammate 112 contributed to a 3-0 singles win and also gave him the honour of hitting the highest finish of the match.
