Keith Carter claimed the game's only maximum as his Division A title chasers built the only comfortable lead of the quartet of ties.

Dan Brazier's maximum was the only moment of magic between Weston Mill and Mainstone B in the other semi that finished 7-4 to the former to leave Brazier's side needing five games from their second leg.
In the Knockout Cup, Mark Williams fired a maximum for Division A leaders Victory who came back from 4-1 and 5-2 down to snatch a 6-5 first leg lead.

Chris Lancaster Snr added a brace for the victors to Matt Abbott's solitary effort whilst Scott Harris added the defeated side's only three treble visit of the contest.
