The Nick Of The Bunch

Nick Bryant heard scores of a ton or more called no fewer than eleven times for Beacon Park in a 9-2 win at Prince Maurice to stretch their lead to eleven in the Plymouth Open League Division A.

Bryant was one of two players amongst his cohort who added a 180 to the scoreboard as Phil Hoyle also fired with a three treble visit.

Bryant's name was up in lights again at the business end of legs as he nailed the second 18 dart leg of the match for his team in a 2-0 singles win.

Danny Hoyle added the other in his 2-0 victory that also contained a 113 checkout, which narrowly beat teammate Keith Carter's 90 combination into second place for the highest checkout of the match.

Tyler Borthwick once again proved to be Johnno Legends talisman with a 180 and 18 dart leg coming in his 2-0 singles win that helped his team to 6-5 win over Cherry Tree B that was eventually settled by Sam Borthwick.

Ryan Horn produced the goods with the scores tied at 5-5 between his Falstaff team and Pennycross to win the match 2-1 in the final singles rubber whilst Lugger B were 8-3 winners versus Fawn A.

A 180 from Jordan Grimshaw and a 31 dart 1001 leg knitted together by Kevin Evans and Matt Abbott were the main moments of an 8-3 win for Weston Mill Oak Villa over Legend Lounge OGs.

The lead changed hands five times between Fortescue and Prince Maurice FC before James Grand held his nerve to win a last leg shootout 2-1 to give the former a 6-5 success.

Highlights in the match came from Brad Hamlyn and Simon Moxham who added a maximum and a 74 checkout respectively.

John Sturdy's 180 for St Levans came in a 9-2 loss against Victory in which AJ Brunton found himself a 17 dart leg during a 2-1 win in the singles phase.

In Division B, Jack Heath nailed a 113 kill to help Duchy to a 6-5 win over Kings Arms who had Jed Hamlyn hitting a 180 before Heath's teammate Beth Falconer won the game with a 2-1 singles win when playing last.

Kian Brown added a 96 checkout for King Billy A in a 7-4 win over Mainstone B and Bluebird's 11-0 win over Legends Lounge B was lit up by a 94 checkout from Josh Fuller.

A George Emery 102 out shot couldn't arrest Herbert's slide to a 6-5 loss against Cherry Tree C whilst Alan Brady's 96 combination out shot helped Fawn B to a 9-2 win over King Billy B

Stephen Heffron was Cherry Tree A's hero after winning his singles 2-1 to give his team a 6-5 win over Agaton in the final individual game of the matchup that his team never led until the final game.

Ker St B were 10-1 winners over their stablemates Ker St A and Tap & Barrel were 6-5 victors versus Weston Mill Hotel.
