Stevenson Dares To Defeat Lewis

Simon Stevenson and Lewis Dare put on an exhibition in heavy scoring during Fawn A's 8-3 defeat to Victory B in the Plymouth City Super League.

Stevenson ploughed in thirteen of his seventeen three figure scores overall during the five leg thriller whilst Dare managed to reach sixteen of his own; twelve coming in the 3-2 defeat to the former PDC star.

Stevenson's checkout of 115 and legs in 18, 17 and 18 darts proved too much for Dare who fired in a maximum and an 18 dart leg of his own to no avail.

Dare was one of three players in the victorious team to notch maximums with teammates Mark Turner and Sean Burkitt hitting the others, and Stevenson providing the Greenbank team's only effort.

King Billy continue to hold a four point lead at the top of the standings after another 10-1 success; the latest unlucky recipients of a hiding being the Cherry Tree.

Antony Hayman starred for the reigning champions with fifteen three figure scores, including two of seven maximums between the two teams.

Hayman's teammate Scott Wapshott added a third for his side whilst Paul Palmer was also prominent with thirteen three figure scores overall.

Dave Lee was in majestic form as he claimed his team's only point with a brace of 17 dart legs in a 3-2 win over Palmer.

Lee also added three maximums to his thirteen ton total with the another coming from Rick Trinder whilst John Greatrex' 108 checkout was the highest of the match for the defeated Pennycross side.

Neil White's fourteen ton haul helped second placed Octagon keep pace with the leaders in a 10-1 win over Kings Arms B.

White was well supported by Lee Hellings who added two maximums to his eleven tons with the other maximums coming from teammates John Mann and Fred Goldsmith; who also checked 99 in a single visit.

Goldsmith and Mann ran out 3-0 winners with the help of 18 dart legs whilst Hellings and White added 17 dart legs to their 3-2 and 3-1 singles wins.

Hellings also added an 18 darter against Roger Backway who reached an admirable thirteen three figure scores that rounded off a remarkable total of one hundred and one efforts between the two sides.

All of those admirable legs were usurped by a 15 darter during a 3-1 individual success for the evergreen Alfie Ford.

Glenn Austin treated spectators and teammates alike to thirteen three figure scores in Bluebird A's 7-4 loss to Saltram.

Austin wasn't the only star of the show for the Compton side with Glenn Halford hitting a maximum on his way to ten ton plusses overall.

Saltram's Paul Hendy checked 105, which was unbeaten on the night whilst teammate Frankie Stout hit his team's only maximum of the proceedings.

Eleven tons, including his team's only 180, from George Beckett helped Steampacket to a narrow 6-5 win over Colebrook.

Beckett (25.05) bagged himself a leg in 17 in a 3-0 singles win that got the Devonport team over the line to an unassailable 6-4 score line.

Darren Smith hit back to back maximums for six perfect darts in his 3-0 win in the final tie of the contest before the seventh of the magic nine eluded him; the Colebrook player eventually settling for a 14 darter.

Victory A climbed to third in the standings with an 11-0 whitewash of Bluebird B that featured an eleven ton haul from Paul Gavican.

The first maximum from the Honicknowle side was ploughed in by Scott Cook in the second tie of the match, which helped Cook and teammates Mark Shears and Danny Allen to a 32 dart trebles 1001 leg.

Cook added a second 180 in his 3-1 singles win whilst Gavican and Allen both added to that total on the night to make it four overall.

Eleven three figure scores from Ben Welsh helped his Hyde Park team to a first win of the season as they got the better of Fawn B 7-4.

Welsh's total was accented by a maximum and a checkout of 108; a performance that was a major contributing factor to the success.

St Levans had three players reach double figures in ton plusses as they defeated Ker St 7-4 with both Hayley Brant and John Sturdy adding eleven tons.

Darren Pearce was also prominent for the Keyham side as he added ten tons for an evening's work that ended in a third triumph of the season so far for his team.

Both Mick Bingham and Roger Ford shone for Victoria during a 10-1 win over Duchy of Cornwall with Bingham checking a 17 dart leg from 117 whilst Ford hit the game's only maximum.

Liam Page's 84 checkout was unbeaten in Kings Arms A's 8-3 success over Victory C whilst Page's teammate Dave Hickman added a maximum during the match.

Jason Goldsmith added the defeated team's only maximum in a 3-2 singles success, which was one of three they won after going 5-0 during the team phase of play.
