Steady-Heggie Lights Up Super League

Ian Heggie fired an unbeaten sixteen three figure scores in the Plymouth City Super League Division B but still remarkably found himself on the wrong end of a 6-5 defeat as Heggie's Ker St were downed by St Levans.

Heggie joined teammate Pete Lamerton in throwing the game's only maximums after a solitary effort each whilst Paul Tackle's 81 finish gave him the highest out shot of the topsy-turvy contest.

Cornwall Gate were knocked off of the top despite a 9-2 win at Fawn B that saw Simon Stevenson dominate with fifteen three figure scores.

Stevenson was well supported by teammate Lewis Dare who fired twelve tons whilst Andy Malinowski showed his undoubted class with a ten ton personal haul.

One of Dare's ton plusses came in a 2-1 doubles win that saw him check a crucial 119 three dart combination out shot that was the best fired in both divisions.

Mark Turner fired the visitor's sole maximum which was joined by the only moment of magic found by the home side as Mark Sargeant added a 180 of his own.

In the individual phase of play, Stevenson (29.47) lit up his singles with legs in 15, 18 and 18 in a 3-0 win whilst Malinowski was also a 3-0 winner with the help of 16 and 17 darters.

Two 180s from Cherry Tree B gave the Pennycross side the platform to claim a 7-4 win over visitors from Plymstock, Victoria.

Paul Hoare and Alex Truscott were the players to hear '180' after throwing whilst Seth Thompson's 76 checkout was the only moment of magic from the defeated side.

Clifton are the new leaders of the second tier after an 11-0 whitewash win at Duchy B that came during a match that saw the Greenbank side dropping just a solitary leg.

The two moments of real class in the game saw Wayne Davis put the only 180 onto the scoreboard whilst Dan Jewell's 92 checkout was the best of the twenty-seven checkouts in the match.

Chris Hanwell's maximum helped Kings Tamerton finally get over the line in a match that his side led four times before downing Hyde Park 6-5.

A 98 checkout from Ryan Ring couldn't arrest Duchy A's slide to an 8-3 defeat in their visit to Oreston and Kings Arms A.

In Division A, Paul Palmer's fifteen scores of a ton or more led King Billy to an 11-0 triumph in their away trip to Saltram.

Palmer added the game's only maximum to that mammoth haul whilst teammate Antony Hayman was on song in the individual phase with a 17 darter in a 3-0 success.

Warren Page's 112 three dart combination out shot gave Saltram one of only four legs the defeated side won in a difficult night for the hosts.

Thirteen tons from Lee Hellings and twelve from compadre John Mann gave leaders Octagon the ammunition to claim an 8-3 success over Fawn A.

Mann's first of two 180s in the match came in the very first rubber, which was snatched by a 100 checkout from Bill Scannell to give the visitors a surprise 1-0 lead.

However, this only served to spark the reigning champions into life as Neil White put a second team maximum onto the scoreboard in a 31 dart 1001 leg claimed by White, Hellings and teammate Fred Goldsmith.

The Stonehouse side them followed that up with a third maximum 180 in as many ties as Mann put another on the board in a fine doubles win.

The pairing of Mann and Quinton Taylor won their 601 legs in 19 and 22 darts to give them a single dart average of 29.32 in spite of a 180 fired in riposte by Dave Roberts.

Andy Bond's thirteen ton plus personal tally in a 6-5 win for Colebrook at Victory contained one of the six maximums overall in a high class contest.

Bond's tally was almost matched by teammate Dave Hollow who nailed twelve tons whilst James Ewing completed a remarkable feat of putting a maximum onto the scoreboard in each of his three appearances.

Ewing's trio of 180s was the cherry on top of a ten ton haul that made him the third player from the Plympton side to reach double figures.

The sextet of three treble visits was rounded off by Darren Smith and Jason Goldsmith as the latter put the only three treble visit onto the scoreboard for the defeated Honicknowle side.

At the business end of legs, the two moments of magic were provided in 3-2 defeats as Andy Bond's 15 darter and a 102 from Nathan Langdon both came in reversals.

Neal Hotchkiss might've provided most of the heavy artillery with twelve tons, however, the Steampacket man still found himself on the wrong end of a 7-4 defeat against Kings Arms B.

Dave Johns eleven ton haul for the victorious visitors was topped off by three of the five maximums in the match.

Hotchkiss' teammate George Beckett nailed the other two 180s to go alongside a 104 finish whilst Johns 3-1 success was aided by a leg in 17.

Johns excellent individual showing was only bettered by Simon Kelly who claimed a 16 darter to go alongside a leg in 18 in another 3-1 win for the Oreston side.

Scott Cook's eleven three figure scores fired Legends Lounge to an 8-3 win over Cherry Tree A whilst Scott Wapshott also ticked his ton tally over to the ten mark.

One of three maximums in the match provided the cherry on top of Cook's total whilst teammate Dan Brazier provided another 180 for the St Budeaux outfit.

Nick Miller added a his team's only three treble visit of the match whilst a a 117 checkout from Dave Lee gave him the highest checkout of both the match, and the week in Division A.

Harry Bull's win in the last tie of a match between Bull's Indian and Bluebird B gave the former a 6-5 win at the end of an encounter in which the Stoke village led five times.

180s were provided by Bull's teammates Damian Chalmers and Alec Turner whilst a 100 checkout from Adam Fell gave him the highest of the matchup.

A 3-0 win from Dale Halford was accented by a leg in 17 that was only bettered by a 15 darter in the aforementioned defeat to Bull by a 3-1 score line.
