St Levans Are All Cook Up
Sixteen tons for Andrew Cook during reigning champions King Billy's 8-3 win over St Levans wasn't beaten by any of the top players on show in the Steve Chapman 501 League.
The Devonport team set their stall out early doors as Antony Hayman combined with Cook and teammate Reece Day for a 30 dart 801 trebles; yielding a 26.70 single dart average.
Hayman then paired with Scott Cook (33.39) then produced some remarkable darts as they won their doubles game 2-0; taking the two 601 legs in 17 and 19 darts.
Hayman rounded off his eleven ton haul in a 3-0 singles win that saw the two time former Champion of Champions take a leg in 17 darts.
Scott Cook (25.91) didn't let up in the individual phase either as he reached ten tons and won 3-0 with the help of a second 17 dart leg for the 'Billy Boyz'.
Andrew Cook's 3-1 triumph saw two more 17 dart legs as Cook and his opponent, Tex Pearce, added an effort each.
Pearce joined Scott Cook in bagging a maximum during the match whilst the highest checkout went to a 97 from Cook's teammate Alec Turner.
Fawn B's dominance of the title race continued as the leaders defeated Victory A 9-2 thanks in part to a show of power scoring and clinical finishing from Dave Matthews.
Matthews completed his fourteen ton haul with checkouts of 111 and 160; the latter tying the highest of the season.
Lee Agar and Fred Goldsmith both added eleven tons for the triumphant Greenbank team whilst John Mann and Jaden Whitting (33.39) paired for an 18 dart 601 leg.
Whitting repeated the 18 dart feat across the 501 distance during his 3-1 individual success, as did Goldsmith in his win by the same score line.
Those fine legs were bettered though by an in form Matthews who managed a 15 darter in a fourth win by a score of 3-1.
One of the two legs won by the Honicknowle side came from a phenomenal performance by Scott Lawrey who threw some of his fourteen ton personal haul during his 3-2 success.
Maria O'Brien's twelve tons in the Victory derby wasn't enough to stop her Victory D team falling to an 11-0 defeat to the C side.
Five 180s were ploughed in during the entertaining match as O'Brien and teammate Kirsty Whiting-O'Brien also chalked up an effort each.
Paul Gavican added a brace of efforts for the successful Honicknowle team with Billy Evans also bagging himself a 180 of his own.

Kings Arms secured all points on offer in their visit to Firkin Doghouse as Paul Palmer top scored with ten tons and Dave Johns bagged a 180.

Mike Bassett's 117 checkout accented an 8-3 win for Fawn A over Victory Hammers as Bassett's teammates Mark Hempsall and Mark Sargeant paired for a 19 dart 601 leg.
The game's only two 180s came from Kieran and Ryan Harris who added maximums during their respective singles matchups.
