Scott Too Hot For King Billy

Thirteen ton plusses from Scott Wapshott were not enough to stop King Billy from suffering a heavy 9-2 defeat to Indian Inn in the Monday Premier League.



Wapshott also bagged his team's only maximum whilst teammate Matt Chegwin chalked up the highest checkout of the match with a fine 110 three dart combination in a 3-1 singles defeat.


The man that defeated Chegwin, Harry Bull, added two maximums to a ten ton personal haul and added legs in 15 and 18 darts in that success.



Danny Bull added a further 180 for the Stoke team who are now fourth in the standings after a fifth win from seven outings so far.


After suffering a first defeat of the season to leaders and title rivals Tradesmans, Octagon A got their season back on track with a fine 9-2 win over Bluebird A.



Lee Hellings led the way scoring wise with a magnificent brace of 180s whilst teammate Jayden Dodd added a third for his team.


Dodd also produced the only ton plus finish of the match with a game high 100 checkout and shared the least number of darts honours with the Compton team's Alan Masters as the pair hit a 14 darter each.



Hellings added legs of 15 and 18 darts in his 3-0 win whilst teammate Alfie Ford bagged a leg in 17 in his 3-1 triumph.


Tony Tasker was in brilliant form for Victory A as he chalked one of three maximums for his team as well as a 123 checkout in a 7-4 defeat of Cherry Tree A.



The other 180s came from Ryan Harris and Chris Beale whilst Richard Wheatley top scored with ten tons and Darren Collis nailed a 17 dart leg in his 3-2 singles loss.


Leaders Tradesmans limped over the line to a 6-5 win over Bluebird C as Mike O'Brien led the way with a brace of maximums.



O'Brien added a 14 dart leg in a 3-0 singles win whilst teammate Andy Bates added his team's other 180 in his 3-0 singles success.


Billy Evans 94 was the highest checkout of the match but he went onto lose to the talented Glenn Halford 3-2 with the Compton team's only maximum making the difference.



Halford's teammate Jams Stoodley also contributed to proceedings with a leg in 16 in his 3-0 individual win that was one of three for the defeated team.


Dan Giles added no fewer than fourteen ton plusses to his personal total in a 9-2 win for his Union Inn team over Octagon B whilst teammate Nick Furneaux netted a high checkout of 120.



Giles did however go on to lose his a brilliant individual game versus Andrew Waters who notched ten tons of his own.


Biggest winners of the week were Victory B who took all points on offer against Bluebird B with Scott Cook reaching ten tons thanks in part to a brace of maximums.



Cook's teammate Paul Gavican added a third 180 for his team whilst the pair both checked legs in 17 darts in their 3-0 and 3-1 singles wins and Steve Ebsworth also added a game high 112 checkout in his 3-0 win.


Cherry Tree A made it four wins from seven starts in the league with a 8-3 win over Brewery Tap that saw Dave Lee strike the highest checkout of the week across all fixtures with a fine 134 kill.



Marc Webber top scored for the Pennycross team with ten tons that included one of two maximums for his team; George Beckett with the other.


The aforementioned Lee effort beat a brilliant 103 three dart combination out shot from teammate Kev Doel in his 3-0 singles win that was one of four managed by reigning Plymouth Open League champions.
