Scott Lays Down The Law

Two of three 180s that Scott Lawrey (29.47) nailed in the Steve Chapman 502 League came in a 3-0 success that contained a hat-trick of 17 darters during Victory A's 8-3 win over St Levans.

That trio of three treble visits left Lawrey on eleven tons for his night's work but such was the class on display between two top teams that he wasn't even the top scoring player in the match.

Tex Pearce took that accolade for the defeated team with thirteen ton plusses whilst teammate Mike Pearce added twelve tons during the entertaining contest.

Lawrey's teammate Kelvin Rowe completed a quartet of double figure ton hitters with a ten ton haul that included a 116 combination out shot.

The individual phase exploded into life from the first dart throw as Quinton Taylor rattled off 14 and 17 darters to claim a 3-2 win over Tex Pearce as Taylor's win was accented by a 180.

There was a 17 dart leg and a maximum for each player in a 3-2 success for Mike Pearce over Paul Goundry before Darren Collis bagged a fourth leg in 17 of the individual phase during his 3-0 triumph.

After Lawrey's heroics, Tony Tasker added a 17 darter of his own during a 3-0 win before Rowe fired the final 180 of the match to sit alongside a 180 that came in a 3-1 win.

Cherry Tree C's 8-3 win at Victory Fireballs was domain by a 3-0 win for Lee Hellings (28.90) that was put away in legs of 17, 17 and 18 darts.

Hellings was one of the six 180 hitters in the overall contest as Dave Lee, Chris Beale and Neal Walters added to Nick Miller's brace.

Those efforts ticked Miller over to the eleven mark whilst Beale also walked away from the oche with double figures in tons after reaching ten in total.

Miller's teammate Nick Bryant matched his ton haul with an undectet of three figure visits and the jewel in the crown of Bryant's 3-1 individual win was a 17 darter.

Simon Washington (25.47) showed his undoubted class in a 3-0 singles that contained an 18 darter during an 8-3 win for Fawn B over Octagon.

Top scoring for the victors was Washington's teammate Jack McMinn with a thirteen ton haul that included one of the two maximums that his team added.

Fred Goldsmith nailed the other on his way to a ten ton plus tally for his own whilst Steve Daley made it a trio of maxis in the match with thr away side's only three treble visit.

Daley's teammate Alfie Ford showed his prowess with eleven three figure visits to the board; some of which were put up during the best game of 601 in the match.

Ford teamed with Jayden Dodd to add a doubles leg in 21 darts which narrowly bettered a 22 darter from John Mann and Lee Agar.

McMinn opened up the singles phase with a 3-1 win that contained a leg in 15 before Mann bagged a 16 darter in his 3-0 triumph.

Cam O'Brien heard scores of a ton or more called no fewer than thirteen times for Cherry Tree D in their 8-3 win over Fawn A.

O'Brien joined Lee Wickett and Stephen Towl (28.61) in putting together an 801 trebles leg that was checked in just 28 darts whilst O'Brien continued his form in the doubles.

A 107 single visit kill in that phase of play gave him the highest checkout of the matchup before nestling an 18 darter in a 3-1 individual triumph.

The only leg to better that six visit success was a 17 darter by Liam Taylor that proved crucial in his 3-2 victory that was one of two individuals that the Greenbank team managed.

O'Brien's teammate Martin Pearson bagged the only three treble visit of the contest during another close encounter to be decided in Pearson's favour 3-2.

Jason Pinkerton fired thirteen visits to the board of a ton or more, which led Cherry Tree B to a 6-5 win at King Billy.

The victors had to withstand some serious firepower from Andrew Cook who was a thirteen ton hitter whilst teammates Paddy Archibald and Brandon Hartley added eleven and ten tons each.

Archibald's tally was topped up by a 115 combination out whilst Cook bagged two of the seven maximums in the contest.

Scott Cook made it as many 180s as points won for the home side as he netted a trio of three treble visits, which joined Darren Smith and Mark Shears' efforts for the visitors.

There was sparks flying from the very first 'game on' call of the individual phase as Pinkerton swept Archibald aside 3-2 with legs in 13 and 16 countering Archibald's 18 darter.

Shears 3-0 win was accented by a leg in 14 before both Cooks were 3-1 winners with some fine arrows thrown by the brothers.

Andrew Cook bagged his win with the help of legs in 16, 17 and 14 before Scott Cook fired a brace of 16 darters on his way to a win by the same score line.

A 180 and a 100 checkout from Paul Palmer topped his personal ton tally up to the eleven mark during a 9-2 win for Kings Arms over Duchy.

A leg in 17 darts from Palmer couldn't stop him from succumbing to Jack Heath 3-2 in the singles with Heath bagging his team's only maximum in the triumph.

An eleven ton haul from Mark Hatherley couldn't arrest Indian's slide to a leg game of night 6-5 loss at Tradesmans that was settled by Jordan Grimshaw 3-0.

Andy Waters showed his finishing prowess for the successful outfit with legs in 16 and 18 darts; the latter of which was checked with a 120 at the first time of asking that bettered a Dan Wilkinson 115 combo.

Simon Wilbraham's tally of eleven tons did the damage for Cherry Tree A who secured an 8-3 over Firkin Scholar.

Wilbraham's teammates Luke Beard and James Ewing came to the party with a 180 apiece whilst Joe Boniface's 98 combination out shot was the best contribution for the defeated team.

Eleven three figure visits from Jason Smout sat nicely alongside Phil Wills 104 single visit kill as Smout's Beacon Park bested Wills' The Exchange 7-4.

Scott Town's 180 was the only moment of magic for Bar Mez as they came from 2-0 down to secure a 7-4 triumph.
