Sargeant's Major Finish Has Onlookers Standing To Attention

Mark Sargeant added a 154 checkout in the narrowest of 6-5 defeats for Fawn B in a Plymouth City Super League Division B home loss versus Kings Arms A that came down to the last possible leg.

Darran Bailey was the away side's hero of the hour as he got over the line 3-2 in a singles game that came in the eleventh and final rubber of a hotly contested matchup.

Mike Bassett added a 180 during a 601 doubles leg that was put away by Bassett and Sargeant in just 16 darts whilst Colin Sloman also showed his finishing prowess for the Oreston outfit.

Sloman's 90 combination out shot wasn't nearly as spectacular as Sargeant's effort but it still gave him the best finish between his six strong victorious cohort.

Fawn A suffered the same fate as their B team with another last ditch 6-5 defeat coming in the final leg of their trip to Victory.

Mark Hempsall scored one of two maximums in the match whilst Dave Roberts added a 180 to his ten ton haul but still fell to a 3-2 defeat in the final singles as Chris Beale walked away with the bragging rights.

Keith Carter was a ten ton hitter for runaway leaders Cherry Tree D who took a 10-1 win from their visit to Herbert.

Carter's 120 out shot bettered a 112 from teammate Phil Lambie whilst the only point gained by the home side came in a 3-1 win for Tom Green that contained a 180.

The A team were rampant in their Duchy derby win against their B team as Jack Heath led the charge with ten scores of a ton or more for the designated home side for the evening.

Heath's teammate Fletcher Stephens was the only recipient of a '180' call for either side in the match during his 3-1 singles win.

Joseph Honeywill added two 180s to another by Phil Hoyle but still found his Kings Tamerton A team leave their home match with Legends Lounge with a 7-4 reversal.

Hoyle's mid range checkout of 75 was only bettered on the night by an 88 from Simon Wilbraham, which gave him one of a trio of legs won in a 3-0 singles triumph.

An 8-3 win for promotion chasing St Levans over Hyde Park saw the lion's share of the highlights go to the defeated team as John Sturdy's 72 checkout was bettered by two achievements for the away team.

Lee Dennis' checked 96 at the first time of asking but it was Bob Wood who stole the show with the only maximum of the contest.
