Reg Your Bets On Matthews

Reg Matthews fired the highest checkout of the week across both divisions of the Plymouth City Super League with a 124 combination in an 8-3 success for Fawn A over Duchy A in Division B.



Matthews outshot was the only effort to better an 85 from away team captain Rob Wills; a kill that gave proved crucial in a 3-2 individual success.


A whitewash 11-0 win for Kings Tamerton A at Duchy B was dominated by the scoring of Joseph Honeywill with eleven scores of a ton or more.



Honeywill added two maximums to that admirable total whilst teammate Phil Hoyle checked a leg from 80 to give him the highest of all twenty-nine finishes in the match.


Mike Sant's eleven ton haul gave Kings Arms A the ammunition to take a 7-4 derby win over their Plymstock rivals Victoria.



Cherry Tree D claimed an excellent 8-3 win over Cherry Tree B in their derby match, but it was Paul Hoare that top scored for the defeated team with ten tons.


However, the business end of legs is where the points are won and checkout of 114 from Graham White and an 84 from Tel Lane gave the leaders crucial legs in their title bid.



Fawn B had Mike Bassett to thank for their 6-5 win at Hyde Park as he claimed the sixth singles with the scores tied at 5-5 to give the visitors the win.


Bassett's teammate John Brady netted a 65 checkout that had to settle for second best as Ben Welsh cleaned up 109 in three darts for the biggest finish of the contest.



John Goodall's 102 finish wasn't enough to arrest Kings Tamerton B's slide to a 9-2 defeat at the hands of visitors St Levans who keep themselves in the title picture with that big win.


A 90 combination out shot from Phil Hoskin gave Victory their best moment of a 10-1 home triumph the Herbert.
