Pearce Tons Steer St Levans Success

Tex Pearce heard scores of a ton or more called no fewer than nineteen times during St Levans' 8-3 success over Beacon Park in the Steve Chapman 501 League.

Pearce was well supported in the win by his teammate and brother Mike Pearce who added a maximum and a 120 checkout to his thirteen ton haul.

Tex Pearce found a 15 darter in the singles but was defeated by Ashley Evens who added his team's only maximum in his 3-2 scalp.

Mike Pearce matched his brother's 15 dart leg and added another in 16 during a 3-0 triumph that was one of four for the Keyham outfit in the singles.

Sixteen tons from Dave Johns proved the catalyst for Kings Arms to claim a 9-2 win from their visit to Stoke village and Indian Inn.

Johns was one of two 180 hitters in the match as Mark Hatherley struck for the defeated side, and remarkably Johns' 100 checkout was one of three occasions where that very same finish was put away.

Jack Bottrill heard game shot called from that mark whilst Ian Heggie added a 121 kill to his 100 combination that contributed to an eleven ton personal tally.

Heggie however was undone in the individual phase due to a brace of 17 darters from Johns in a 3-2 success whilst Hatherley's 18 darter was one of trio of legs he won during a 3-0 success.

A Fawn B 9-2 success was dominated by the scoring from John Mann who added fourteen ton plusses to the scoreboard in their visit to Octagon.

Mann's teammate Lee Agar finished on ten tons whilst Jaden Whitting and Andy Bates both secured 180s during the affair.

Mann (25.91) won 3-0 in the individual phase with an 18 darter his best whilst Agar's leg in 17 proved crucial in a 3-2 triumph.

One of the two points won by the home side was expertly put away by Chris Edgecombe (25.91) 3-0 with a leg in 17 to match Agar's achievement.

Jack McMinn continues to light up the dartboard for Bluebird with his twelve ton haul the main highlight of a 6-5 win for the visitors at Victory Hammers.

McMinn's tally was accented by one of three ton plus finishes as his 120 checkout was beaten twice in the match.

Wayne Davis ploughed home 128 at the first time of asking but still had to settle for second place as a 131 was put away by Keith Lemon.

McMinn also put his name amongst the 180 hitters in the match as teammates Alan Masters and Al McIlhiney both produced a maximum each.

A 14 darter helped Masters to a 3-0 singles success whilst McMinn put legs of 17 and 18 darts away in his 3-1 triumph.

Steve Ebsworth's showed his class with twelve tons but still found himself on the wrong end of a 10-1 loss as Cherry Tree D were defeated by King Billy.

Scott Cook's eleven tons included a checkout of 118 and two of the three 180s in the game whilst George Jones and Rhys Julian both added ten tons a piece.

Jones haul was contributed during a 21 dart 601 leg in the doubles phase of play when pairing with Antony Hayman.

Jones went on to add legs in 15 and 17 darts during his 3-0 individual triumph that was one of five wins without reply during the singles.

Frankie Stout contributed to that haul with a 3-0 success that included a leg in 17 whilst Andrew Cook's 12 darter came in another 3-0 triumph.

Cook was explosively brilliant with a maximum and a 136 checkout that was the highest finish of the week across all fixtures adding to his night's work.

Twelve tons by James Hughes and an eleven to haul from teammate Nick Bryant fired Cherry Tree C to a 10-1 success over Bar Mez.

Their teammate Nick Miller was the Pennycross side's only maximum hitter with Scott Town providing the other 180 to join a Paul Tackle 100 checkout as the best moments for the Cornwall based side.

Twelve tons from Quinton Taylor gave Victory A the platform for a 7-4 success at Cherry Tree A for whom Dan Brazier also performed well with his own duodectet of three figure scores.

Taylor was well supported in the win by Paul Goundry who netted himself eleven tons whilst Kelvin Rowe and James Ewing shared the two 180s in the match equally between the two teams.

Taylor's 3-0 individual success was set alight by two legs of world class darts as he put together 16 and 14 darters.

Eleven tons by both Lewis Byrne and Andy Waters proved to be the difference maker in a 6-5 win for Tradesmans at Victory Fireballs for whom Lee Lagor added ten ton plusses.

Waters tally was ticked over by checkouts of 115 and 112 whilst teammate Jordan Grimshaw scored 180 before Nick Bromley steered his side home 3-1 with the score locked at 5-5 going into the finale.

Fawn A led the way in 180s by two to Cherry Tree B's one but still found themselves on the wrong end of a 10-1 thrashing.

The three players to plunder three treble visits were Mike Bassett and Liam Taylor for the hosts whilst Jason Pinkerton added his team's only effort of that kind.

A 90 checkout by Jason Bruce was the best moment of an 8-3 win for Duchy in their home clash with Ivybridge CC.
