Pearce Produces Mike Drop Moment

Mike Pearce (27.83) showed the type of form in the Steve Chapman 501 League that's made him such a stalwart in the Devon county setup with a 3-0 win that contained a leg in 16 darts.

However, Pearce's win and contribution of two 180s to an eleven three figure score personal total across the event couldn't arrest St Levans' slide to a 9-2 defeat against Kings Arms.

The victors had Mark Yeoman and Paul Hendy both adding 180s to a 75 checkout from Dave Johns in the triumph.

Fourteen scores of a ton or more from Nick Bryant gave Cherry Tree C the platform to claim a 9-2 win in a Cherry Tree derby win against their D team.

Lee Hellings and Dave Lee provided Bryant with significant supporting roles as the pair plundered eleven and ten ton plusses overall.

The superiority of the designated home side for the evening was further emphasised by three world class legs in the individual phase.

Bryant was a 3-1 winner thanks in part to a leg in 16 before Lewis Dare notched a 17 darter in a 3-0 success before Hellings rounded off proceedings with a fine 3-1 triumph that contained a 16 dart leg of his own.

The 180s in the game were shared between the two teams with Dare's effort equalled by the talented Martin Pearson.

Pearson's teammate Kev Lofthouse also showed a moment of brilliance with a 119 combination out shot to take the best checkout of the contest.

Jack McMinn shone once again for reigning champions Fawn B with eleven ton plusses that came in a 10-1 triumph over Bar Mez.

McMinn was supported well by John Mann who added the game's only maximum to his eleven ton haul whilst teammate Pete Holland nailed a 128 out shot that was the best of the week across all fixtures.

Mann and teammate Lee Agar bagged themselves a 601 leg in 22 darts in a 2-0 doubles win before McMinn and partner Lewis Whitley bettered that with an 18 darter over the same distance in another 2-0 triumph.

Mann continued his good form in the individual phase with a 16 dart leg over the 501 distance in a 3-0 win before McMinn showed why there's so much hype around him with a 3-0 win that contained a 15 darter.

Dave Pethick's eleven tons and ten more from teammate Chris Edgecombe proved critical in deciding the Stonehouse derby between Octagon and Trademans, which ended 8-3 to the former.

Rob May showed two moments of his brilliant best with a 96 checkout that sat nicely alongside the game's only maximum.

A solitary 180 for each team came from the arms of Rhys Castle and Liam Taylor during an 8-3 win for Taylor's Fawn A at Castle's Firkin Scholar.

Paul Goundry's significant contribution to Victory A's 9-2 win over Beacon Park included two 180s and a 121 checkout that all came in a 3-0 singles win that also contained a leg in 12 darts.

Goundry's new teammate Billy Evans enjoyed his return to competitive action with a 3-0 win, which saw him put one chalk mark onto the scoreboard thanks to a leg in 17.

Dan Wilkinson's 94 checkout and 180 were the main highlights of Indian Inn's 8-3 victory during their visit to The Exchange.

Lewis Byrne checked 104 in a single visit whilst Brandon Hartley was a 3-0 winner thanks in part to a leg in 15 darts during a 9-2 win for King Billy at Victory Fireballs.

The home side had Neal Walters in a good form with two maximums that sat nicely alongside a leg in 18 darts during his 3-1 individual win.

A maxi came from Lee O'Mahony for Victory Hammers but that wasn't enough to curtail Cherry Tree B who won out 8-3.

Will Broome's 96 checkout and 180 were included in fireworks that included 17 darters from both teammate James Farrell and Dave Graham in a 9-2 win for Broome's Cherry Tree A over Graham's Duchy.
