Paul Haul Guides Kings Victory
Paul Palmer's fourteen ton plusses proved crucial in helping Kings Arms get over line to a 6-5 win over Victory A in the Steve Chapman 501 League.
Palmer was well supported in the victory by teammate Alec Turner who put three figures onto the scoreboard on ten occasions.
One of Palmer's efforts was a singular addition to the four maximums overall in the entertaining contest as Palmer was joined by teammate Reg Matthews in achieving that feat.
The other 180s came from the arms of Quinton Taylor and Kelvin Rowe whilst their teammate Paul Goundry was in blistering form for the defeated side.
Goundry fired fourteen three figure scores of his own whilst the next best ton tally came from Scott Lawrey with twelve tons; a run that ended with the best game of the night.
Lawrey (29.47) was a 3-0 winner thanks in part to a magnificent brace of 16 darter which made the score line more than respectable for the Honicknowle outfit.
King Billy were 7-4 winners over the Tradesmans thank in part to a rampant Antony Hayman who heard scores of a ton or more called fourteen times after throwing.
Hayman's teammate Frankie Stout added ten tons and Troi Day added both 180s whilst as the score line suggests, it was anything but one way traffic.
Lewis Bryne added thirteen tons for his evening's work whilst Andy Waters was an eleven ton hitter overall with his best moments particularly coming in a 3-1 singles win.
A 108 checkout and a 15 darter helped him to a 3-1 success; a leg that was only beaten by Hayman's 14 darter in his 3-0 win.
Hayman also added a leg in 16 to that and Andrew Cook settled the result when winning 3-2 thanks to a crucial 17 darter.
Lewis Dare's thirteen three figure scores fired Cherry Tree C to a fine 10-1 success over Ivybridge Con Club whilst teammate Lee Hellings also produced moments of magic.
Hellings added the highest checkout of both the match and week with a 118 kill and added a 14 darter in his 3-0 individual win.
Dan Brazier's twelve three figure scores lit up Cherry Tree A's 11-0 triumph at home against local rivals Beacon Park.
Danny Perryman's 180 was the only effort of it's kind whilst Luke Beard's 17 darter in a 3-0 success was the best leg of this demolition job.
Jack McMinn added twelve tons to an 8-3 win for Bluebird over Duchy that contained two maximums and three mid range checkouts.
McMinn added one 180 to his personal ton tally whilst teammate Alan McIlhiney was the second player to put up a three treble visit.
Rob Wills' 86 finish was beaten twice as Alan Masters fired a 96 kill whilst John Merrifield's 98 combination out shot was the best of the match overall.
The best leg of the match also came from the arm of McMinn as he nailed a 13 darter in a 3-0 success that was one of five wins for the Compton side.
Lee Agar led the scoring for reigning champions Fawn B as he put eleven tons onto the scoreboard in an 11-0 win at Indian Inn.
Agar was supported admirably by John Mann and Fred Goldsmith who both added ten tons each whilst the 180s in the match were distributed between Goldsmith and Agar.
Agar's brace was added to by a solitary maximum from Goldsmith whilst Simon Washington's 100 checkout was the best finish of the match.
That effort bettered a 90 kill from Mark Hatherley who also added eleven tons to his evening's work; a feat matched by teammate Ian Heggie.
Two 17 dart legs were put up in the match as Mann's leg in his 3-0 win was equalled by Agar in a 3-2 success over Hatherley.
Mark Shears ten tons top the scoring in a 10-1 win for Cherry Tree B during their visit to Victory Fireballs with Shears' total capped by a maximum.
Shears teammate Jason Pinkerton was also in good form with a brace of maximums, an 18 darter and a 96 finish his best.
Shears (31.98) legs of 18, 16 and 13 darts stole the headlines whilst Paul Gavican (26.37) was also a 3-0 winner with the help of a leg in 17.
Mike Pearce found tons on ten visits to the board in an 8-3 win for second placed St Levans over visitors from Torpoint, Bar Mez.
Anna Pearce's 18 darter in a 3-2 win joined a maximum by Matt Pearce as the other highlights of this comfortable win.
The only notable moment in a 7-4 win for Octagon over Cherry Tree D came from the arm of Dave Pethick who nailed a 116 three dart combination finish.
A fine 90 checkout from Mark Hempsall was the main highlight of a 9-2 triumph for Fawn A over Victory Hammers.
