Paul Haul Dominates King Billy Derby

Both teams in the Monday Premier League's King Billy derby provided moments of real quality, but none more so than Paul Gavican for the King Billy B in an 8-3 defeat of their local rivals, King Billy A.

Gavican fired an unbeaten fifteen tons overall whilst Andrew Cook was the top scoring player for the defeated team with fourteen three figure scores.

Both Gavican and Cook added to Scott Cook's maximum whilst Antony Hayman's modest but respectable 76 checkout was the best of all thirty-one finishes in the match.

Gavican opened the individual phase with a 3-1 win that contained the first 15 darter of the match before Hayman replicated that feat in a 3-0 reversal.

Scott Cook was the third man to hear 'game shot' called after throwing 15 darts before Andrew Cook made it a quartet in a 3-1 success that also contained legs two 18 darters.

John Mann heard scores of a ton or more called no fewer than thirteen times during an 8-3 win for champions elect Tradesmans in a visit to Cherry Tree A.

Mann wasn't the only member of the visiting party to show good form as three members of the team were eleven ton hitters.

Fred Goldsmith, Scott Wapshott and Lee Agar made up that trio whilst Jaden Whitting finished his night's work on ten tons.

Agar's tally was accented by a 116 that was the highest checkout of the week across all fixtures whilst Goldsmith and Mann were the only members of the team to find a three treble visit.

Another eleven tons came from the home contingent as Mike Whatley fired that amount of three figure scores whilst the singles phase was littered with world class arrows.

Goldsmith opened up in the individuals with a 3-0 win that contained a leg in 18 darts whilst Mann was a 3-1 winner thanks to legs in 18, 18 and 17.

Wapshott (26.84) was a 3-0 winner with a brace of 18 darters his best before Agar's aforementioned finish and a 15 darter proved crucial in a 3-2 win over Whatley.

Paul Palmer blistering recent form dominated Octagon A's 7-4 win at Indian Inn as the former Devon man netted himself twelve tons.

Palmer was well supported in the win by Lee Hellings and Jayden Dodd who both added ten ton hauls of their own.

Teammate Scott Hutchinson was also explosive at times with a maximums and a 90 checkout whilst the only noteworthy contribution by the defeated side was a 15 darter in a 3-0 by Harry Bull.

Lee Roberts fired eleven tons to provide the main catalyst behind a Bluebird B 8-3 triumph in their visit to Octagon B.

Roberts' teammate Tony Teal added the only maximum of the match whilst there was two decent showing by the Stonehouse side.

Paul Barclay checked a leg in 18 during a 3-1 defeat whilst teammate Dave Wyatt checked 92 at the first time of asking for the best finish of the match.

Eleven tons by Kev Doel provided the ammunition to lead Cherry Tree B to a 10-1 win over Bluebird A in a match that saw both Tony Reid and Mel Sharpe added 180s to Doel's decent standard.

Scott Lawrey reached double figures for tons with ten in a 7-4 win for Victory in their home fixture with Colebrook.

There was a 180 each for both sides as Quinton Taylor's effort was matched by John Crotty for the visitors in an individual phase that was lit up by incredible play from either team.

Lawrey was a 3-1 winner with the help of leg ins 13 and 17 darts before Zak Smith won 3-0 thanks in part to a 16 darter.

Alex Roach then found an 18 darter to claim a 3-2 success whilst Nick Furneaux's brace of 18 darts couldn't arrest his slide to a 3-2 defeat.
