Palmer Brammer Crowns Kings' Victory
Legs of 18, 17 and 18 darts lit up Paul Palmer's (28.36) 3-0 individual success in an 8-3 team win for Kings Arms over Beacon Park in the Steve Chapman 501 League.

One of those legs was emphatically put away with a 118 checkout that was proclaimed the best finish of the contest.
That kill was one of ten tons added by Palmer on the night and it bettered a 100 single visit combination by teammate Yeoman.

Despite showing his undoubted class, Palmer's legs were nowhere near the best of the contest with Jason Smout adding a 14 darter in a 3-1 win to take that accolade.
Alec Turner checked in 15 in a 3-0 success whilst there was a 16 darter for Dave Johns during another 3-0 win without reply.

Antony Hayman (27.83) added legs of 16 and 18 darts to his 3-0 singles success in an 11-0 win over Victory Hammers that puts the Devonport side third in the standings.
Hayman finished his night with one of the four maximums on his way to eleven tons whilst teammate Andrew Cook put away 141 in a single visit to reach ten tons.

That checkout was the best of both the match and game week and it came in a 3-0 success that contained a leg in 18 darts.
George Jones also checked in 18 darts during his 3-0 individual triumph whilst Scott Cook had to work hard for his 3-1 success over Cobie Harris.

Harris added a 180 to his eleven ton haul and the leg he won came in 15 darts against the Cornwall county man who put on 16 and 17 dart legs.
Cook finished earlier in the contest at the first time of asking from 101 and also netted himself a 180 in the aforementioned win to join teammate Frankie Stout in the quartet of maxi hitters.

Simon Washington (27.33) put away his 3-0 singles win in an 11-0 success for new leaders Fawn B in just 55 darts with a best leg of 15 darts coming his way.
In that particular contest, Washington nailed the highest checkout of the match with a 117 kill and also put up on of the two 180s in the game.

After that mammoth effort, Washington was left on ten tons overall for the game whilst teammate Andy Bates was also in blistering form individually.
Bates (25.05) was also a 3-0 winner with 13 and 17 darters making up his effort with that leg narrowly bettering John Mann's 14 darter in his 3-1 success.

Mann was also to the top scoring player on display with a fourteen ton haul that included the other maximum by the reigning champions.
Mann was supported well in the scoring phase by Washington and two more teammates, Fred Goldsmith and Luke Johnson, who ended on twelve and ten tons respectively.

Johnson heard 'game shot' called after throwing 17 darts in his 3-0 triumph and he teamed well with Bates in a 601 doubles leg that was put away in just 20 darts.
The Greenbank outfit set their stall out from the very first game as Mann, Washington and Lee Agar (36.41) rattled off an 801 trebles in just 22 darts.

Tex Pearce's eighteen scores of a ton or more led St Levans to a 6-5 victory over Bluebird for whom Paul McDough was almost as equally influential with fifteen ton plusses.
Pearce's tally contained a 122 checkout that was the best finish of the matchup, but that wasn't enough to stop him sliding to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Alan Masters.

Pearce checked a leg in that defeat in 18 darts whilst Masters firepower was proven statistically in the form of a twelve ton haul.
Masters' haul included his team's only maximum whilst teammate Jack McMinn found scores of a ton or more on no fewer than eleven occasions.

Another eleven ton man was Pearce's brother and stablemate Mike Pearce who added a 180 to his undectet whilst Anna Pearce netted herself a maximum.
Three maximums accented Mark Hatherley's thirteen ton haul in a 7-4 home defeat for Indian Inn against Tradesmans.

Hatherley's teammate Ian Heggie added a 180 to the twelve tons he plundered in the loss whilst Jordan Grimshaw was the main aggressor for the victorious visitors with eleven scores of a ton or more.
Grimshaw also showed his prowess at the business end of legs with a fine 15 darter in his 3-1 win whilst teammate Lewis Byrne's 117 checkout was the best of a trio of top finishes in the game.

The other two went to Hatherley who showed he could also finish games as well as he was starting them with 83 and 95 single visit out shots.
Tony Tasker and Scott Lawrey's thirteen tons a piece did the damage for Victory A who secured a 10-1 success over Bar Mez.

Kelvin Rowe also had his scoring boots on with a ten ton haul whilst teammate Quinton Taylor's 100 checkout was the best of the contest.
Lawrey's 18 darter contributed to a 3-1 success over Lee Rodmell who added one of the two 180s he scored on the night in that particular tie.

Lawrey's leg however was usurped by teammate Rowe who was a 3-0 winner thanks in part to a majestic leg in 16.
Nick Bryant showed his class in a 6-5 defeat for Cherry Tree C versus Fawn A with a twelve ton haul that included a 135 checkout.

Bryant was well supported in the scoring phase by Lee Hellings who added a maximum to the eleven scores of a ton or more he put on.
The victors also hit the lion's share of a trio of maximums as Bill Scannell and Mark Hempsall both heard '180' called after throwing.

Hellings teamed with Steve Mills for a 20 darter over the 601 distance whilst Bryant's 3-0 win in the individual phase was accented by legs in 15 and 18 darts.
Scott Wapshott top scored with eleven ton plusses by saw his Cherry Tree B side lose ground and relinquish top spot in the title race after a 7-4 win over Octagon.

Mike Whatley was also a catalyst in the win with ten tons whilst the highest scoring player for the home side was Robbie Bisgrove who made it to ten tons.
Bisgrove's 18 darter proved to be crucial in a 3-2 success over Whatley whilst there was four maximums in the match overall.

Bisgrove's teammate Alfie Ford added a solitary effort for his team to three treble visits by Mark Shears, Jason Pinkerton and Paul Gavican.
Neal Walters added a 180 and a leg in 18 during a 3-0 win that claimed the sixth and winning point in a 6-5 win over Duchy; for whom John Hawton scored a maximum of his own.

A leg in 17 by Dan Brazier and a 98 checkout from teammate Matt Kingdon were the main moments of magic for Cherry Tree A who walked away from their home game versus Ivybridge CC with a 9-2 success.
