One Hollow Does Not A Success Make

Dave Hollow rained sixteen three figure scores down onto the Bluebird A in the Monday Premier League, but his Colebrook side still ended up on the wrong side of a 6-5 defeat.

Hollow was also clinical at the business end of his singles legs with 17 and 18 darters turning out to be crucial in a 3-2 win whilst teammate Nathan Langdon was also in good form with a 17 darter in a 3-1 win.

Langdon ended the match with eleven tons and whilst the man who he toppled in the singles was the Compton side's heaviest scorer with twelve tons.

Dan Giles netted the only maximum of the match before Alan McIlhiney got his team over the line with a 3-0 success whilst the scores were tied at 5-5.

Scott Lawrey's fifteen three figure scores was enough to see Victory A over the line in a 6-5 success over Bluebird C.

Lawrey was well supported by Quinton Taylor who bagged eleven three figure scores whilst the man that Lawrey triumphed over in the singles, Glenn Halford, top scored for his side with an eleven ton personal tally.

The cherry on top of Halford's total was a maximum; a feat repeated by his teammate Tony Teal who threw one of his own.

Mike Whatley's fourteen ton plusses, including the game's only 180, couldn't arrest the Cherry Tree A's slide to a 6-5 defeat against Indian.

There was a 17 dart leg for both sides with Paul Freeman and Danny Bull performing the heroics in 3-1 and 3-0 success respectively.

The trio of Andrew Cook, Antony Hayman and Geoff Heath led the King Billy to a 9-2 triumph over Victory C with all three reaching double figures in ton plusses.

Cook was the highest scorer with thirteen three figure scores and added a 17 darter in a 3-0 win to his night's work.

Hayman was the next best with a 180 ticking his ton total over to a brilliant twelve whilst Heath helped himself to eleven three figure visits including a maximum and the highest checkout of 116.

Whilst Heath's 3-0 was also accented by a leg in 17, Hayman (28.36) led the way with a 16 darter and followed this with a leg in 18.

The bi-annual Octagon derby match between the A and B teams saw the former come out on top by a 10-1 score line as Lee Hellings provided the fire power with eleven tons.

Paul Palmer and Paul Hendy's 22 dart 601 whilst Palmer's 14 darter in a 3-0 singles success bettered a leg in 17 for Jayden Dodd in another win without reply.

Scott Cook and Antony Pearn were bang at it with twelve and ten tons each but still found themselves on the wrong side of an 8-3 defeat as Victory B were bested by Bluebird B.

Stuart Couling added twelve tons including a 100 checkout that was only bettered by Dale Halford who checked 116 on his way to ten ton plusses.

Couling joined Cook and Pearn in hitting 180s in the match whilst Dan Hurley completed a trio of ten ton or more hitters for the victorious Compton side.

George Beckett reached ten tons but still found himself on the wrong side of an 8-3 score line as Cherry Tree B were downed by leaders Tradesmans.

Three ton plus out shots lit up the affair with Jaden Whitting's 105 bettered twice in the match; once by Marc Webber with a 126 and finally by Fred Goldsmith who nailed a 140 checkout.

There was a smattering of short legs; the first coming in the form of a 20 dart 601 game for John Mann and Lee Agar.

Mann then added a leg in 18 during a 3-0 success before Andy Bates fell to George Beckett 3-1; the solitary success coming in just 17 darts before Goldsmith added 17 and 15 dart legs in a 3-0 success.
