No Jewell In Crown For Dan
Dan Jewell fired a remarkable three maximums but still only picked up three legs in a 7-3 Legends Lounge Premier League 2 defeat to Jayden Dodd.
Jewell did get over the line in his second matchup of the evening with a 7-1 success over Nick Cordrey whilst Damian Chalmers bested Joshua James 7-1 and Dan Giles claimed the same result over Chris Harper.
Way out in front by virtue of some good form together with extra games played, league leader Liam Taylor suffered a mixed bag having won his first game 7-2 against Adam Hill.
Taylor then fired a 122 checkout in his 7-4 defeat against Dodd whilst Hill returned to the board to suffer a 7-1 loss to Darren Smith.
Sarah Brown is now second in the table after her third and fourth win on the spin; the first victim being Kelly Burkitt in a 7-2 win for the Cornwall county player.
Brown followed this win with a 7-5 success over Robbie Aitken that yielded a fine 101 finish that was plundered in a single visit to the board.
Nathan Langdon is also on four from four after his 7-6 win over Mark Williams that had to withstand a maximum from Langdon's opponent.
Williams did pick up a win and another 180 in his second game of the night, which ended 7-2 over Simon Wilbraham.
One of those Williams legs was won with a 102 three dart combination outshot that was bettered by Nick Cordrey's 114 in his 7-2 success over Aitken.
Andrew Cook is now on three wins from three starts after his 7-0 success that saw him put a solitary maximum onto the scoreboard.
In Premier League 1, a 150 checkout - that's the highest of the season so far in both leagues - coupled with a 180 from James Ewing couldn't stop Ewing from being defeated by Sean Burkitt in a 7-4 reversal.
Chris Edgcumbe fired two maximums in his 7-1 success over Dave Webb whilst Frankie Stout repeated Edgcumbe's feat and more in his narrow defeat to Dave Hollow.
Stout pinned his two maximums and followed this with a 101 checkout whilst Del Bryce added a 180 in his 7-2 success over Warren Page.
Page made more of a game of it against Ben Waters in one of Waters two outings on the night but still fell to a 7-5 loss.
Waters bagged himself a 180 in that contest that followed a 7-2 success over Webb to give Waters twenty-six points from a possible twenty-eight so far.
Edgcumbe returned to the board to hit a second maximum in his 7-3 defeat to league leader Sean Taylor whilst Lewis Byrne was a 7-1 winner in his contest against Tom Graham.
Reece Day's checkouts of 100 and 112 added to a maximum he also hit in a 7-1 victory over Richie Noel whilst Neil White made it four wins from four starts with a maximum in a 7-0 success over Dave Ryde.
