No Bull From Indian Duo

Indian Inn's Danny and Harry Bull were crowned Monday Premier League doubles champions after a bumper night of action at the Bluebird.

The father/son pairing came through against another parent and child combination with a 2-0 win over Quinton and Liam Taylor who represented Victory in the preliminary round.

In the same round of the fifty-two player field, Scott Cook added two maximums to get King Billy B pair of Cook and Paul Gavican on the road to a 2-1 success over Gary Clarke and Andy Stinchcombe of Cherry Tree A.

Fred Goldsmith and Lee Agar, who represented champions Tradesmans, found a second successive 2-0 win in the last 16 with the latter hitting a 180.

Goldsmith and Agar's teammates Simon Washington and Mike O'Brien exited at that same stage with the Bulls coming through 2-1 whilst Cook was on form again.

Cook checked a leg with a 108 kill to help him and his partner to a 2-0 win over Dave Lee and Marc Webber who were representing Cherry Tree B.

The Bull pairing got into their stride with a 20 dart 601 that helped them edge Goldsmith and Agar in the last 8 despite Goldsmith's maximum in that 2-1 defeat.

Lee Hellings and Alfie Ford had a decent run to the semis starting with a 2-1 win over Octagon A teammates Sean Burkitt and Paul Hendy.

Hellings and Ford were pushed to all three legs by Andrew Cook and Kev Lofthouse of King Billy A before dispatching Paul Goundry and Ant Pearn from King Billy B 2-0.

A 21 dart leg from Cherry Tree A's Paul Freeman and Mike Whatley helped them end Hellings and Ford's night and secure a place in the final after a decent run.

That started with a Cherry Tree derby win over Tony Reid and Phil Taylor from the Cherry Tree B team before a 2-0 success over Octagon B duo Dave Wyatt and Paul Barclay.

The strong looking Glenn Halford and Lee Roberts who were playing for Bluebird B were brushed aside 2-0 before the aforementioned success over Hellings and Ford.

In the second semi final, Danny Bull fired the fifth and final maximum of the night, which went someway to defeating Cook and Gavican 2-1.
