Nix Off The Old Block

Dan Nixon put up arrows his Dad, former Champion of Champions finalist Chris Nixon, would've been proud of during Cherry Tree's Louis Yates Plymouth & District Darts League 10-3 loss versus Kings Tamerton.

Nixon found scores of a ton or more on eleven occasions whilst teammate Mark Lashbrook added a solitary maximum to Nixon's efforts.

The top team in the division had Ty Carthy putting up a three treble visit and John Brownlow checking 81 in a single visit.

Jordan Grimshaw (32.29) put together the shortest game of the week and second best of the season so far with a 31 dart 1001 leg in Victory's 7-6 defeat to Mainstone.

Grimshaw added a 180 in that excellent leg and walked away with ten tons overall whilst teammate Shane Roberts checked 96 in one visit to give his team a least number of darts and high checkout combo.

Jamie Sandford added the only maximum of the game but still found himself on the wrong end of an 8-5 loss as Cattedown Social Club were bested by Pennycross Social Club.

Sean Taylor fired two of the three maximums in a 7-6 win for Legends Lounge at Tradesmans B that came down to the last individual game.

Nick Bromley fired the other maximum in the match for the defeated team, which came in the same game that Taylor's teammate Nathan Beeney checked 80 at the first time of asking.

With the scores tied at 6-6, it was Del Bryce who found his form to give the away side the spoils in the final 1001 singles.

A 95 combination by Steve Jones narrowly missed out on the high checkout prize for the week; an effort that came in an 8-5 win for Octagon at Windmill whilst Falstaff were 11-2 winners over Weston Mill Oak Villa.
