Thompson's tally was ticked over by one of the three maximums in the match as teammate George Beckett and Chris Beale both fired.
Beale added ten more tons for the defeated home side to give him an eleven ton haul whilst teammate Kirsty Whiting-O'Brien's 96 checkout was the best finish of the night.
Legends Lounge had Scott Wapshott and Ant Pearn to thank for coming away from their trip to Saltram with a 10-1 win.
Wapshott bagged himself thirteen tons whilst Pearn found three figure scores on eleven occasions throughout the match.
The biggest of those Pearn efforts was a maximum 180 in leg of 501 that also saw a 120 and 177 to leave just 24 after 9 darts.
Frankie Stout was the other player for the outsiders for the league title to hear 180 called after throwing his darts.
John Mann once again top scored for the leaders Octagon with thirteen ton plusses to give his team the platform for a 10-1 win.
Mann was well supported by Lee Hellings who heard scores of a ton or more called no fewer than twelve times in the matchup.
Mann started proceedings in the trebles with a 105 checkout that was only bettered on the night by a Dale Halford 116 combination for the defeated side.
The individual phase with littered with top tungsten starting with Fred Goldsmith's 18 darter in his 3-2 singles win starting the onslaught.
Wayne Oddie then put up the only maximum of the match but still fell 3-2 to Dave Matthews who added an 18 darter of his own.
Mann (26.37) bagged a brace of 18 darters in his 3-0 before Alfie Ford rounded off proceedings with another 18 darter in a third 3-2 triumph for the reigning champions.
Paul Goundry's twelve tons included a 127 checkout that was the highest of three ton plus checkouts in King Billy's 11-0 win over Fawn A.
A 106 from Lee Doncaster was narrowly bumped into third best by a 107 from teammate Jay Honeywell whilst the pair contributed two of the three maximums overall.
The other came from the arm of Dave Pethick for the defeated side whilst the best individual legs came in the same game.
Paddy Archibald was a 3-0 winner thanks in part to two superb legs of 17 and 18 darts and over the 601 distance, Archibald teamed with Honeywell to net a leg in 19.
Glenn Halford's twelve tons provided the best total from Bluebird A who ripped through Indian 9-2 in their visit to Stoke village.
Halford wasn't the only player from his side in good form as Lee Roberts also netted himself an eleven ton personal haul.
Tony Teal was the third player to reach double figures in tons for his team whilst the visitors from Compton also checked two ton plus out shots.
James Stoodley's 112 narrowly bettered a 111 from teammate Glenn Austin whilst Stoodley's 15 darter in his 3-2 singles win was the best game of 501 overall.
Roberts 3-0 win over Danny Bull provided a leg in 18 and one of the two maximums from Bull on the night with Stoodley bagging a solitary maximum for his team to make it three between the two teams.
Ten tons from Dave Hollow and Nathan Langdon provided the ammunition to give Colebrook an 8-3 win over Cherry Tree A.
Their teammate James Ewing added the only maximum of the match whilst James Hughes heard scores of a ton or more called ten times himself for the defeated team.
In Division B, Tex Pearce stole the show with fourteen three figure scores for St Levans as they took a 9-2 win from their encounter with Cherry Tree B.
Teammate and wife Anna Pearce was also prominent with an 89 checkout to go alongside a 21 dart 601 leg that Pearce and her sparing partner Hayley Brant put together.
The lion's share of the three maximums in the game went to the visitors as Logan Carroll and Tony Reid added to Harry MacGregor's solitary effort from the Keyham outfit.
Carroll also heard game shot called after throwing just 16 darts in one of three winning legs during his 3-1 individual success.
Wayne Town top scored for Clifton with eleven tons during an 8-3 victory for the Greenbank team over Kings Tamerton who had Paul Freeman firing ten ton plusses of his own.
Cory Jonas also produced some good moments with a 180 and a 91 checkout that was only bettered by checkouts of 92 from Carla Blacker and Chris Hanwell.
A 10-1 win for runaway leaders Cornwall Gate was dominated by the scoring prowess of Simon Stevenson who added eleven tons overall.
Col Maddocks was also in good nick with ten tons whilst singles opponent Aaron Wright checked a leg at the first time of asking from 94 in a 3-1 success.
Mark Turner checked a 13 darter that included the only maximum of it's kind, and this proved crucial in the final reckoning of his 3-2 success.
Ryan Ring's ten ton haul was unfortunately in vein as his Duchy A team couldn't get over the line in their 8-3 defeat against Ker St.
Ring and teammate Heath checked 601 in just 17 darts during a doubles rubber before Heath netted a 15 darter over the 501 distance in a 3-2 defeat that also saw Heath check 111 in a single visit.
Wayne Pike's 115 checkout couldn't arrest Duchy B's slide to a 9-2 defeat during their home encounter with Kings Arms A.
Alan Brady's 96 single visit checkout was the best moment of a one sided win for Fawn B as the visitors from Greenbank downed Hyde Park 9-2.
