Lewis Byrnes Allcomers To Claim ADC Crown

Lewis Byrne was the champion of the ADC Vault week three with a decent performance that saw the Legends Lounge event almost reach it's full compliment of twenty-four players for the first time.

In group one, Byrne came through to the quarters with 2-1 wins over Sean Burkitt and Dan Menge to go alongside a 2-0 success over James Farrell.

Steve Mills topped the group though after a 2-1 win over Byrne was accompanied by wins by the same score line over Menge and Farrell, whilst Burkitt was defeated 2-0.

Darren Smith won four from four in group two after a 2-1 win over Dave Lee was followed by 2-0 successes over Paul Hoare, James Parkhouse and Chris McLeod.

Lee joined Smith in the final eight after recovering from his defeat to oust to secure 2-0 wins over the rest of the pool.

Lewis Dare (85.89) produced the best averages of the round robin stage with his 2-0 win over Cameron O'Brien containing a leg in 16 whilst his other win was a 2-0 success over Nick Miller.

Dare (78.84) fell behind against Jay McLeod but recovered to a 2-1 win thanks to a 17 darter in the final leg but that dropped leg proved crucial in deciding who topped the group.

Week one champion Paul Palmer defeated Dare 2-0 and defeated Miller 2-1, O'Brien 2-0 and was downed by McLeod 2-0 to finish one leg ahead of Dare.

Sean Taylor topped group four on leg difference after two wins from three games in what was a tight round robin stage between the four competitors.

Taylor's (73.32) best effort was a 2-0 win over Tom Graham which contained a leg in 18 whilst Taylor won 2-1 against Rob May before losing 2-1 to Del Bryce.

Graham came through with a 2-1 over Bryce and a 2-1 over May to secure the final spot amongst the eight elite players in the knockout phase.

Mills leg in 17 helped him end Graham's run in the last eight by a 3-0 score line whilst Dare added a 180 in his 3-1 success over Smith.

Lee was defeated 3-1 by Palmer before Byrne (71.57) came through against Taylor (71.47) 3-0, but the scoring was a lot closer than the score line suggested.

Leg three in Mills (70.28) versus Dare (71.00) was put away by the latter in 16 darts but it was Mills who came though 3-2.

Byrne and Palmer played out an equally tight contest with Byrne coming through 3-2 before running out a 3-1 winner over Mills thanks to a final leg 16 darter.
