Let Him Cook

Scott Cook was the top performing competitor across the game week in the Plymouth City Super League Division A with seventeen ton plusses that led Indian B to a 7-4 triumph over Cherry Tree A.

Cook also nailed his team's only noteworthy individual leg with a 15 darter that proved the difference maker in a 3-2 singles success.

The team triumph wasn't just built upon the scoring of Cook as his teammate Mark Shears showed his undoubted class with sixteen visits of a ton or more.

Shears tally included one of the five maximums in the contest with Scott Wapshott adding a second for the home side whilst the others went the way of the defeated party.

The trio of Quinton Taylor, Nick Miller and Steve Mills all struck three treble twenties in the same visit to the board one time to give the away side some solace from the narrow loss.

Miller's 180 topped his ton tally out to the eleven mark whilst Mills added nine more for a ten ton haul and also walked away with the highest checkout of 99.

Both Mills and Miller were singles winner with Milles coming through 3-0 thanks in part to a 17 darter whilst Miller's 15 dart leg gave him one of the chalk marks of his 3-1 triumph.

A marvellous haul of sixteen tons rained down from the arm of Paul Goundry, which gave King Billy the platform to take an 8-3 win from a visit to Bluebird B.

Goundry wasn't the only players from the visitors to show scoring prowess as Antony Hayman bagged himself eleven tons including two of the four maximums.

Paddy Archibald and Alec Turner both added a solitary maxi to make it a quartet of three treble visits whilst the top scorer for the home side was Dan Hurley with eleven ton plusses.

Several highlights at the business end of legs started with Lee Doncaster's 103 checkout that came in a 2-0 doubles win that included a 601 leg concluded in just 15 darts when pairing with Hayman.

Doncaster was downed in the singles phase by a 3-0 win that saw opponent Owen Cook nail a 121 combination out shot.

Hayman continued his excellent form with legs in 13 and 18 darts during a 3-0 win of his own before Archibald's 18 darter proved crucial in a 3-2 success.

Simon Stevenson was once again the shining light and talisman for Cornwall Gate with three maximums on his way to fourteen scores of a ton or more in a 7-4 success over Bluebird A.

Stevenson was supported well by Shaun Dring who contributed twelve three figure visits, including a maxi whilst teammate Matt Vosper was a 180 hitter to make it a quintet of three treble visits for the victors.

The visitors only contribution to the 180 column of the sheet came from Glenn Halford who added nine more ton plusses to make it to ten.

The best checkout honours went the way of the home side's captain Dan Bunney who expertly put away 112 in a single visit.

Three time back to back champions Octagon showed why they're so dominant in this format with a 10-1 win that was dominated by John Mann.

Mann added a trio of 180s to his thirteen scores of a ton or more whilst Andy Bates provided attacking intent with ten tons of his own.

Bates added to the matchup's 180 count with a solitary effort whilst Fred Goldsmith made it five to the home side with another.

Luke Johnson provided his team's only three treble visit whilst a 132 three dart combination out shot gave Goldsmith the best checkout of both the match and the game week across all fixtures.

After steamrollering the team phase without dropping a leg, Lee Hellings continued the precession with a 3-1 triumph that included a leg in 15 darts.

Mann's 18 darter helped his 3-0 success before George Beckett put up legs in 16 and 18 darts to give the visitors from Devonport their only double-yew of the contest in a 3-1 win.

Fred Goldsmith's 3-2 triumph included a crucial leg in 14 darts before Neil White bagged himself the best leg of 501 of the game week with a 13 darter in a 3-0 win.

The ammunition for Clifton's 8-3 win over Ker St came from Wayne Town who was credited with eleven tons to his name, which included his team's only maximum.

Both of the 180s came in the same singles game as Paul Tackle fired against Town but was narrowly beaten 3-2 with Town's 18 darter proving crucial in that particular clash.

A checkout of 75 from Town was bettered twice as Mike Evens checked 92 to play the bridesmaid to Kev Seal's 120 combination.

Ten tons from Dave Hollow did the damage for Cherry Tree C, leading them to a fine 8-3 win over Indian A as Hollow's teammates Frankie Stout and Nathan Langdon both added maximums.

Whilst Hollow's scoring lit up the occasion, Danny Bull worked hard to get the better of Hollow in the individual phase with legs in 17, 18 and 19 darts for a 3-1 win.

Bull's checkout of 91 in that win narrowly bettered an 89 from Steve Towl whilst the away side's 180 hitter was Harry Bull.
