Lee Spree Dominates Champions Party

Lee Agar heard scores of a ton or more called no fewer than seventeen times during Tradesmans 9-2 Monday Premier League win over King Billy B that ensured a league win by fifty points in just twenty-two weeks of play.

Agar was supported in the win by John Mann who ended on eleven tons whilst Mike O'Brien finished with ten scores of a ton or more.

One of the five maximums topped up Agar's total with teammate Simon Washington adding another for the victors.

Scott Cook put two maximums onto the scoreboard for the fifth placed visitors on his way to thirteen tons whilst Paddy Archibald was the final man to hear '180' called after throwing.

Paul Gavican was almost as equally influential as Cook during the scoring phase with eleven tons whilst short legs dominated the affair.

Mann and Agar won a 601 doubles leg in just 16 darts whilst Washington teamed with Fred Goldsmith to bag a leg in 18 over the same distance, which helped the Stonehouse side build a 5-0 lead.

The best singles matchup came in the very first rubber as Cook checked in 16, 16 and 12 during a 3-2 win over Agar.

Jaden Whitting made it three 16 darters in the 501 singles phase as he claimed a 3-1 win that was one of four individual successes.

Mann ended his campaign with a 3-2 loss to Gavican, meaning he can be caught for a share of the individual title whilst Cook needs two legs from his final appearance in a rearranged game to take third in the standings.

Andrew Cook fired an unbeaten fifteen ton plusses to lead fourth placed King Billy A to a 6-5 win over third placed Victory.

Cook's total was topped up by two of the five maximums in the game with teammate Antony Hayman adding to that quintet with one of his own.

Ryan Harris and Kelvin Rowe were the three treble hitters for the defeated team in whilst both their teammate Scott Lawrey was one of two others to end their night on ten tons.

Alec Turner added a dectet of tons to Cook's heroics to support him well in the team win whilst the singles was set alight by some magical play.

Cook was a 3-2 winner with legs in 17, 14 and 17 darts, eventually downing Harris who added a 17 darter of his own in the narrow loss.

Lawrey made it four 17 darters in the game with one during his 3-0 win before Hayman stole the show in unbelievable style.

Hayman (28.90) bagged himself two legs in 15 during a 3-0 win; one of which was checked with a breath-taking 164 checkout for the highest of the week and second best of the season.

Runners-up Octagon A's Paul Palmer rounded off his Monday night season with fourteen ton plusses and a 3-2 win over eighth placed Cherry Tree B's George Beckett who nailed eleven tons in the 6-5 team defeat.

Despite being the lesser volume, Beckett's ton tally had more impressive moments as two 180s and a 120 checkout ticked his total into double figures.

Beckett's teammate Dave Lee also heard '180' called after throwing in the topsy-turvy affair that saw the visitors build a 5-1 lead before being pegged back.

Lee Hellings won 3-0 to ensure a shot at a share of the league's individual title going into the rearranged games period whilst teammate Jayden Dodd completed the unlikely comeback with a 3-0 win last on.

A 7-4 win for Cherry Tree A wasn't enough to allow them to leapfrog their Cherry Tree B rivals; settling for ninth spot after the win against eleventh best Octagon B.

Mike Whatley dominated the scoring phase with thirteen ton plusses and also nailed a 17 darter in his 3-0 individual success.

Paul Barclay was the only 180 hitter in the match whilst teammate Bill Rennie's 130 combination out shot was the best checkout of a close encounter.

Zak Smith netted checkouts of 112 and 110 on his way to a thirteen ton haul but still found himself on the wrong end of an 8-3 defeat as tenth placed Colebrook were downed by Indian Inn who finished seventh.

Smith was a 3-1 individual winner thanks in part to legs in 15 and 18 darts whilst Lee Wyatt top scored for the victors with ten tons.

A spirited Bluebird derby between A and B ended in a last leg shootout 6-5 win for the A team that was finished off by Dale Halford in a 3-2 win with the scores tied at 5-5 going into the eleventh rubber.

Other highlights of a decent affair include Glenn Austin's 180 and an 85 checkout by Matt Lang as the A team

finish bottom in spite of that win whilst the B side sit comfortably in sixth spot.
