Lee Gives Firkin Scholar Hell-ings
Lee Hellings top scored with fourteen ton plusses as the Octagon A whitewashed bottom side Firkin Scholar to keep the heat up on top side Tradesmans in the Monday Premier League.
The Stonehouse side dropped just one single leg as Hellings was one of six singles winners by a 3-0 scoreline when helping himself to legs of 17 and 18 darts.
Lewis Dare produced the highest checkout of the week with a 120 kill whilst teammate Dave Pethick also took out a brilliant 117 kill.
180s were scored by Octagon's Paul Palmer and Alfie Ford, and those efforts were joined with one from Frankie Stout who fired the only significant contribution of note for the defeated side.
Scott Wapshott notched twelve ton plusses in his King Billy team's 6-5 win over Union Inn and had a 16 leg that was the joint lowest recorded of the week.
Dave Hollow was prominent for the losers with eleven tons of his own; some of which were scored in a 3-2 singles win.
Paul Barclay notched a brace of 18 darters in his 3-1 individual success in Octagon B's 7-4 home win over Bluebird B.
Despite the result, most of the plaudits rightly went to Compton based players with Dan Hurley notching twelve tons and teammate Dale Halford scoring ten.
Hurley also provided the highest checkout of the contest with a fine 116 finish whilst fellow Bluebird marksman Jon Parsons was the only player to hit a maximum in the tie.
Simon Washington scored eleven three figure scores and matched teammate Barclay's 18 dart feat with one of his own.
No less than four players hit the magic double figure mark in ton plusses in the Victory derby, which was won by the B team 7-4 over their A team rivals.
Darren Collis and Quinton Taylor top scored for the A team with eleven each whilst Paul Goundry and Paddy Archibald both reached ten.
Goundry (26.84) also took a fine 3-0 win in his individual game with a 16 darter to boot, which gave Honicknowle pub's B team the 7-4 win in the final matchup of the night.
The second biggest winners of the week were the Bluebird C with a 10-1 thrashing of Indian B as Glenn Austin was most prominent for the victors.
Austin took out a 105 finish and hit a maximum on his way to ten ton plusses whilst teammate Steve Brocklesby also reached double figures.
Matt Nicholson fired in a 17 darter in a 3-2 defeat to Austin whilst Paul Freeman won his game 3-0 to put his name at joint top of the individual table on 44 points.
