Kieran's 'Billy Boyz' Burn-ed Despite Remarkable Spree

Kieran Burns added fifteen tons but still found himself on the wrong end of a 6-5 defeat as Lugger A booked their place in the last eight of the Plymouth Open League Knockout Cup at the expense of King Billy A.



Logan Carroll's 180 helped Lugger A win the first leg 6-5 with a 180 before Simon Wilbraham produced the only moment of magic in the second leg for his team with a maximum to give the side a slim 12-10 success.


A 14-8 success for Cherry Tree B over St Johnston B saw Nick Miller on fire in the first leg, which ended 6-5 to the former.


Miller fired the only maximum of the away leg and helped himself to a 15 dart leg that ended with a 158 checkout in his 2-1 singles defeat.



Passage into the next phase was completed in the home leg by an 8-3 score line as Kieran Harris nail an 81 checkout on the bull.


Prince Maurice won 13-9 overall after a return leg 8-3 win turned around a deficit of 6-5 from the first match against Ker St B.


The first leg was more entertaining than the second as Brian Bishop fired a maximum and Will Broome checked 76 in a single visit.



Neil White checked 80 in a 9-2 win for Division A leaders Victory before the Honicknowle side were gifted an 11-0 after a no show from Lugger B in the second leg.


Ker St C's whitewash defeat of Falstaff B gave them safe passage into the next phase by an 18-4 score line following a much closer first leg of 7-4.


Weston Mill Oak Villa had Kevin Evans in decent nick as he shot 76 in a single visit in a 7-4 win before his side tan out 14-8 winners overall against Pennycross.



Des Dugdale might've claimed two maximums but he still found himself on the wrong side of another 7-4 defeat in the second leg.


Fawn kept their hopes of silverware alive despite being defeated by local rivals Fortescue who had Lee Medway hitting a 180 and Cody Rees-Williams checking 100 in a single visit.


The second 180 of the match was put up by Dave Barton for the victors from Greenbank but the damage had been done in the first leg away win by a 9-2 score line.



In the Supplementary Cup, checkouts of 116 from Ryan Parker in the first leg and a 116 from Yvette Ward fired King Billy B to 9-2 and 7-4 wins over Cherry Tree A.


Legends Lounge gave themselves quite a cushion in the first leg with an 8-3 home win over Falstaff A that contained a Sean Taylor maximum.


Alan Jewell for the defeated team and Carl Bradshaw for the victors both hit 180s as Legends Lounge booked their place in the last eight with a 7-4 success that left the overall score at 15-7.



Weston Mill Hotel's pair of 7-4 wins were lit up by two ton plus checkouts as Mark Laing finished 105 in a single visit only to see that bettered by Paul Davies whose three dart combination of 120 was the best of the night.


Ker St A booked their place in the quarter final with emphatic 9-2 and 11-0 wins; the latter saw Nick Bromley check 73, whilst Dan Capel threw a maximum for the defeated Mainstone B.


Mainstone A left themselves with very little to do after a first leg 9-2 win over Ker St D that saw Roy Osgood check 103 in three.


Two more mammoth checkouts came in the 6-5 second leg win for Mainstone A; a 130 from Al Pope turning out to be second best to a 157 from Roy Osgood.
