Jumpin' Jack Flash But Fawn Still Victorious

Jack McMinn showed his undoubted class in week thirty-two of the Steve Chapman 501 League for Bluebird with nineteen ton plusses but still found himself on the wrong end of a 10-1 loss versus leaders Fawn B.

McMinn's teammate Glenn Austin also shone with eleven tons but it was the collective scoring power from the top team in the league that decided the affair.

Simon Washington added a 180 on his way to twelve tons whilst John Mann was next best with eleven tons whilst Lee Agar joined Andy Bates in completing a ten ton haul each.

Another 180 rained down from the arm of Luke Johnson whilst the only three treble visit by the visitors went the way of Wayne Oddie.

Mann and Agar were 2-1 winners in the doubles phase thanks to 601 legs in 19 and 22 darts before Agar went on to take out a 501 leg in 14 darts during his 3-0 success.

Washington's 3-0 win over Oddie saw both players hit their aforementioned 180s but it was Washington who was more clinical in the finishing stages with one of the legs coming in 16 darts.

Lee Rodmell showed his scoring power with fifteen ton plusses but ended up seeing his team defeated 6-5 as Bar Mez were downed by Tradesmans.

Rodmell added a 117 checkout to his efforts for the evening whilst teammate Paul Tackle was also in good scoring form with a 180 on his way to ten tons.

With the scores tied at 5-5, Lewis Byrne held his nerve for the visitors from Stonehouse to claim a 3-1 triumph whilst Byrne also walked away from the oche with ten tons to his name.

The highlight of Jayden Dodd's haul of thirteen tons during an 8-3 win for Victory Fireballs was a 108 checkout that was matched by teammate Dave Pethick.

Pethick also added one of the three maximums in the game as Alfie Ford added a second for this team to go alongside a 180 by Phil Ingram for the visitors.

Ford's three treble visit came in a 3-0 singles win that also contained a leg in 14 darts whilst Dodd found a leg in 18 during a 3-1 success.

Mark Hatherley's thirteen scores of ton or more included the only maximum of a 7-4 defeat for Hatherley's Indian Inn versus Fawn A.

The Greenbank based visitors' away win was accented by a 77 checkout from Dave Barton who took the high checkout honours for the match.

Phil Hoyle added a maximum on his way to twelve tons for Cherry Tree B during their 10-1 win over Beacon Park whilst Mark Shears also heard '180' called after throwing.

That effort ticked Shears' ton tally over to the eleven mark, which was matched by Jason Smout for the defeated team.

Heavy scoring by a trio of Cherry Tree C players allowed them to build a commanding 8-3 victory away at St Levans.

Lee Hellings topped the scoring charts with two 180s on his way to twelve tons whilst teammate Nick Bryant added a 180 to his eleven ton tally.

Dave Lee repeated Bryant's heroics with a 180 and eleven scores of a ton or more whilst Mike Pearce was an eleven ton hitter for the defeated team.

At the business end of legs, the aforementioned Cherry Tree trio all got in on the act with Bryant's 92 checkout giving him the highest checkout honours.

Hellings was a 3-1 winner in the individual phase thanks to a brace of 18 darters before Bryant put a third leg in six completed visits onto the scoreboard during his 3-0 success.

Lee narrowly lost out to Pearce but not before he added a leg in 16 darts during a 3-2 loss that made the score line a little more respectable for the Keyham outfit.

A Victory derby between Victory A and Victory Hammers saw the scoring dominance of Paul Goudry and Paddy Archibald lead the former to a 9-2 success over their local rivals.

Both Archibald and Goundry were eleven ton hitters but Goundry's tally was propped up by two of the four maximums scored in the match.

The only two 180s were added by teammate Quinton Taylor whilst Hammers only takeaway from the heavy defeat was the form of Wayne Davis.

Davis himself ended his 3-2 success over Archibald with a ten ton personal tally for his night's work whilst the dominance of the designated home side was further emphasised at the business end of three singles games.

Taylor was a 3-1 winner thanks in part to a leg in 17 whilst Scott Lawrey repeated that marker during a 3-0 individual triumph.

Tony Tasker, however, went one dart better off with a 16 dart leg during his 3-0 triumph that was one of eight games that were won by the A team without reply.

Dave Johns stellar performance saw him end on eleven tons including the highest checkout of the week after he put away 131 at the first time of asking.

That effort, plus two 180s, couldn't stop his Kings Arms side from sliding to a 6-5 defeat at the hands of King Billy who had Scott Cook to thanks for a last matchup 3-0 win over Reg Matthews.

Matthews did take some solace from producing a 110 checkout to win a trebles game whilst Cook's team plundered three 180s to take the bragging rights in that particular statistic.

Antony Hayman joined Brandon Hartley and Andrew Cook in achieving a three treble visit on one occasion whilst the individual phase really sparked into life from the first game onwards.

Hartley won a leg in 17 on his way to a 3-1 win before Andrew Cook put on 14 and 17 dart legs during his 3-0 success.

Paul Palmer was a 3-0 winner thanks in part to a 13 dart leg for the Oreston outfit whilst teammate Mark Yeoman fired a 17 darter of his own during his 3-1 triumph.

Johns completed the mini recovery from 5-2 down to draw level at 5-5 going into the last game thanks to a 3-1 victory that contained a leg in 15 darts before Scott Cook finally put the game to bed in the final rubber.

Dan Brazier's scoring led the way for Cherry Tree A as his ten tons gave his team the platform to secure a 10-1 triumph over Duchy.

Brazier's individual success by a 3-0 score line came with one leg in 16 whilst teammate James Farrell added an 18 darter on to a win by the same score line.

Of all thirty-one checkouts fired between the twelve competitors, it was Simon Wilbraham's 93 kill that claimed the highest finish of the game in an all around good evening for the hosts.

Cherry Tree D recovered from 4-2 down to take a 6-5 win on the last singles game of their matchup with Ivybridge CC to leave the visitors still without a win by the narrowest of margins.

Martin Pearson was the hero of that last leg decider with a 3-0 win whilst teammates Steve Towl and Kevin Lofthouse both showed moments of magic in the contest.

Lofthouse was a 180 hitter for the home side whilst Towl checked at the first time of asking from 105 and added a 17 dart leg during his 3-0 singles win that gave Pearson the chance at glory.
