John Is The Mann About Tons

John Mann produced a vintage seventeen three figure scores in his King Billy A team's 7-4 win over Kings Arms in the Steve Chapman 501 League.

Mann also joined Andrew Cook in the 180 column and the Cornishman added ten more tons to his personal total to make it eleven overall.

Other maximums in the match came from Paul Palmer, Glynn Wells and Dave Algar from the visitors who despite losing the match, still managed to outscore the champions in the 180 stakes.

Antony Hayman was the next best ton hitter with ten whilst there was no fewer than four 17 dart legs in the contest as Cook and teammate Alec Turner both struck in their 3-1 and 3-0 wins respectively.

Glynn Wells fired the third of these for the Kings Arms in his 3-1 defeat to Cook whilst the other came in another loss for the Oreston team; Reg Matthews hitting it when succumbing to the relentless Mann.

That Matthews leg was checked with the highest finish of the contest; a brilliant 94 combination outshot from the veteran.

Mann had to work hard for his singles win with a leg of 18 and followed this with the lowest recorded leg of 14.

The Fawn derby was dominated by a B team 10-1 win over their stablemates the A team with Mike O'Brien producing sixteen three figure scores overall; the best of the contest.

O'Brien was well supported by Lee Agar who notched a maximum on his way to thirteen tons whilst Jayden Whitting added ten to his 180 to take his total to eleven.

That win keeps the Greenbank club's B team eleven points ahead of their nearest rivals for runners-up in the league, King Billy B, who managed a 7-4 win over Octagon.

Mark Shears thirteen three figure scores helped the Devonport team on their way whilst Shears was ably supported by no fewer than five maximums by his teammates.

Scott Wapshott and Paul Gavican both notched a brace each and another was added by Billy Evans who also chalked up the highest checkout of the week across all fixtures with a fine 141 three dart combo.

Evans also helped himself to the best leg of the match with a fine 15 darter in his 3-1 win last on which added the icing to a brilliant performance in a game between third and fourth in the standings.

Two ton plus finishes from Tony Tasker, from 114 and 100, was the main highlight of a 10-1 home win for the Victory A over the visitors from Torpoint Cons.

Tasker's teammate Darren Collis also added the only maximum of the match in his dominant 3-0 individual success.

A 20 dart 601 leg from Mike and Tex Pearce was one of two highlights from a St Levans 8-3 win over Cherry Tree with the other coming from a brilliant 115 checkout from Hayley Brant.

Bottom side Indian Inn picked up a third win of a difficult campaign with a 7-4 success over Victory B that saw Danny Allen and Kieran Harris hit a 100 outshot and 180 respectively for the defeated team.
