Jay Makes Hay In Octagon Success

Jayden Dodd chalked up fourteen ton plusses onto the scoreboard in the Steve Chapman 501 League for Octagon in their 6-5 win over Kings Arms.

Dodd wasn't the only player for the Stonehouse side at his brilliant best as Simon Washington added eleven tons overall including checkouts of 102 and 120.

As the score line suggests, it certainly wasn't all one way traffic as Dave Johns added twelve tons for the away side.

Dave Algar's 104 checkout was the highest plundered by the Oreston side who also had Reg Matthews firing a 100 kill in a single visit to the board.

A number of the short legs in the match proved to be crucial as five of the six games of singles were decided by a single leg in five.

Alfie Ford's 16 darter was the best of the bunch whilst 18 dart legs for Washington, Matthews and Robbie Bisgrove also provided headline moments.

Lee Agar top scored for the reigning champs and runaway leaders, Fawn B, with eleven tons and was well supported in his endeavour by teammate John Mann who put ten tons onto the scoreboard.

The 11-0 defeat of Duchy saw Mann tick his ton tally into double figures by putting away 107 in a single visit to claim the highest checkout of the match.

Jaden Whitting added the only three treble visit for the title favourites of Greenbank whilst Jordan Heath replied with one of his own for the visitors from Stonehouse.

Dan Brazier's eleven three figure scores couldn't arrest Cherry Tree's slide to a 10-1 defeat at the hands of Victory C who had Jason Pinkerton at his brilliant best.

Pinkerton's ten ton haul contained a high checkout of 114 whilst a trio of Pinkerton's teammates fired the only maximums in the match.

Scott Wapshott joined Mark Shears and Paul Gavican in achieving that feat whilst there was a smattering of brilliant legs across the fixture.

Wapshott and Shears paired to fire a 17 dart leg over the 601 distance whilst Gavican's 13 darter in his 3-1 win was the best of the ties over 501.

Billy Evans hit his team's only leg in 17 of the individuals in a 3-0 win whilst Brazier's 17 darter helped him to the Pennycross side's solitary point and teammate Dan Perryman checked in 18 in his loss to Gavican.

Eleven tons from Kelvin Rowe led Victory A to a 7-4 success in their visit to King Billy; a match that contained six maximums.

Rowe was joined in racking up a three treble visit by teammates Scott Lawrey and Paul Goundry whilst Antony Hayman and Scott Cook added to Andrew Cook's effort that ticked his ton tally over to the ten mark.

The difference maker between Cook's and Rowe's ton haul was a 122 checkout from the latter that won both the match award the best finish as well as the league's prize money for the week.

A 16 dart leg each from Hayman, and Scott and Andrew Cook in their respective individual wins were the only legs to better a 17 darter from Quinton Taylor in his 3-0 triumph.

Ian Heggie and Mark Hatherley's ten ton tallies did the damage for Indian Inn as they claimed a 7-4 triumph in a visit to Victory Hammers.

Hatherley's heroics didn't cease at the scoring phase of play as checkouts of 80 and 90 were the two biggest finishes recorded in the contest.

Ten tons from Mike Pearce and Tex Pearce were not enough for St Levans who were pegged back to a 6-5 defeat at the hands of Fawn A.

Tex Pearce's two maximums were joined by another from teammate Hayley Brant whilst Pearce also showed his prowess at the business end of legs.

Pearce's 3-1 singles win was littered with legs of 16 and 17 darts whilst the best put onto the scoreboard by the Greenbank side came from Mike Bassett who checked one leg in 17 in a 3-0 success.

Lee Rodmell was the hero of the hour for Cornwall based Bar Mez as he won the last tie of the night with the scores locked at 5-5 to take the spoils against Ker St.

Nick Bromley's 101 checkout was crucial for the away side from Devonport as the highest checkout of the match helped him to a 3-2 individual win.
