Jason Strikes Gold For Lugger
Lugger A's title push in Division A of the Plymouth Open League is still in full swing thanks to a 6-5 success over St Johnston B which saw three players find a three treble visit.
Jason Goldsmith fired the first of the contest for the Devonport side in the second game of the tightly contested matchup.
Goldsmith's teammate Simon Wilbraham also nailed a maximum whilst Tyler Borthwick claimed one effort for the narrowly defeated team.
Borthwick also added a 16 darter in his singles match he won 2-0 whilst the highest checkout of the contest overall went to Lugger's Richard Wheatley who nailed 100 in a single visit.
Nick Bryant's performance was the main catalyst behind Beacon Park's 9-2 success over Ker St A, which saw Bryant fire both a maximum and a 17 dart leg.
There was two excellent checkouts in the match with Roger Bailey's 96 for the defeated team bettering an 84 from Stan Preen.
Keith Carter also matched Bryant's brilliant leg in his 3-0 singles success, which was one of four won by his team.
St Johnston A claimed a 6-5 success against Prince Maurice whilst leaders Victory suffered their first reversal of the campaign by the same score in their visit to Ker St C.
Whilst the 180s were even between Mainstone B and Weston Mill Oak Villa with one a piece for Kevin Evans and Dan Capel, the score line wasn't as the latter demolished the former 10-1.
A 6-5 win for Cherry Tree B over Falstaff A was secured in the last game of the match by Nick Miller who won 2-0 with the scores tied at 5-5 with a finish of 84.
In Division B, Mark Sargeant's 83 checkout proved to be crucial in a 6-5 success for Fawn in their visit to St Levans whilst Jason Bruce checked 67 in a single visit for Duchy in their 7-4 loss to Mainstone A.
There was a 180 a piece in Ker St B's 6-5 defeat to King Billy A with Geordie Baker and Bayleigh Webb both firing efforts.
Despite ending the wrong side of the narrow defeat, Kieran Burns still had time to show his finishing prowess with a fine 76 checkout.
