James Produces Giant Peach Of A Leg

Three catchup games were played in the first of two post season weeks of the Steve Chapman 501 League and James Ewing's 12 dart leg during a 3-0 success couldn't stop his Cherry Tree A team from falling to defeat.

Ewing's efforts in the 9-2 home loss against already crowned champions Fawn B didn't stop at that incredible leg as he also saw him check 115 in a single visit, which was the second to last of his ten tons overall.

The man that Ewing beat, Lee Agar, nailed his team's only 180 in that defeat with the other three treble visits coming from the arm of Ewing's teammates.

Will Broome and Simon Wilbraham both fired a solitary maximum each whilst Ewing's aforementioned kill meant that Agar's stablemates John Mann and Fred Goldsmith had to share second best for high checkouts.

Both Mann and Goldsmith heard 'game shot' called at the first time asking from 100 with the latter adding ten more tons to give him eleven over the course of the contest.

Goldsmith was supported well in the scoring phase by Andy Bates who netted himself a ten ton personal tally, which sat nicely alongside a 13 dart leg Bates added during his 3-0 singles success.

Hayman notched a 157 combination out shot in an 8-3 win for King Billy at St Levans, which sat alongside two maximums he plundered throughout the high scoring contest.

Teammate Scott Cook was twice a maxi hitter on his way to ten tons whilst Frankie Stout also heard '180' called once after throwing to top his ton total up to the ten mark.

A sixth 180 for the visitors from Devonport was plundered by Andrew Cook whilst the scoring certainly wasn't all one way with Mike and Tex Pearce both shining for the defeated team.

Mike added eleven ton plusses over the course of the matchup whilst Tex completed a quartet of players that reached at least double figures in tons with a ten ton haul of his own.

Mike Pearce was one of two singles winners for his team with his best leg in a 3-0 win coming in the form of a 15 darter.

Ashley Evens nailed an 18 dart leg during his 3-0 singles win but still found himself on the wrong end of a 7-4 loss as Evens' Beacon Park were downed by Fawn A.
