James Flying On Ewings Of Love

Two 180s and a checkout of 80 by James Ewing proved to be the major highlights of Legends Lounge's Plymouth City Super League Division B 8-3 win over Kings Arms A.



Ewing's finish narrowly bettered a 79 kill by teammate Lee Hunter whilst those efforts were usurped by a 98 from Pete Down for the visitors, who Ewing defeated 3-1 in the individual phase t complete a good night.


Down's teammates Pete Dunbar and Harvey Nicholson both added maximums to their night's body of work, but both came in individual losses.



Nick Bryant shone once again for runaway leaders Cherry Tree D in a 9-2 success over Duchy A with his ten ton plus overall haul being added to by one of the two maximums in the game.


Bryant's 180 was joined by another from teammate Terry Lane whilst Bryant also showed his class at the business end of legs.



A 96 checkout and legs in 16 and 17 darts gave him an impressive 3-2 individual success that was one of six decided by a solitary chalk mark.


Ben Welsh added the highest divisional checkout of 120 to one of three maximums in a 7-4 defeat for his Hyde Park team at Cherry Tree B.



Kev Doel heard '180' called after throwing for the successful home side whilst Welsh's teammate Bob Wood showed two moments of magic.


Wood's 3-0 individual triumph was smattered with a maximum and a 16 darter to give the defeated side something to take from the narrow defeat.



Fawn A's upward trajectory in the standings continued with an impressive 9-2 win over St Levans that saw two ton plus checkouts from the two standout players in the match.


Hayley Brant added a 180 to her 100 checkout that was only bettered by a 118 from Dave Roberts who also showed his class with two other highlights in the rout.



Roberts' maximum was the only three treble visit thrown by the visitors whilst his 3-0 individual success was lit up by an 18 dart leg.


Herbert got their season up and running with a first win of the campaign that was won 6-5 over Kings Tamerton B, who themselves had Nick Coles finishing in a single visit from 115.



Mark Sargeant's 111 came in a 9-2 win for Fawn B who continued their impressive start to the new campaign with a win over Duchy B.


Victory were 6-5 winners at Victoria with Kev Marshall stealing the show thanks to an 87 checkout and a 180 for the victorious away side.
