Jack Whacks Title Rivals

The top two in the Steve Chapman 501 League met in what turned out to be a trouncing for Cherry Tree B as champions Fawn B laid down a marker with a 10-1 win.

Jack McMinn and Simon Washington produced thirty of the one hundred and ten three figures visits; a total that was shared evenly between the two talismen.

Their teammate Sean Taylor was a twelve ton hitter whilst the trio of John Mann, Fred Goldsmith and Lee Agar all ended their night on eleven tons each.

Whilst the match score line was remarkably one sided for two teams of such quality, the six 180s were shared three apiece as all the victor's trio all came from Simon Washington.

Phil Hoyle joined Mike Whatley and Jason Pinkerton in putting up a solitary maxi each whilst the finishing phase of play saw numerous highlights throughout.

Darren Smith's 118 combination out shot gave him the highest checkout, which sat nicely alongside three outstanding performances in the individuals.

McMinn's 12 darter proved as crucial in a 3-2 win as Washington's 17 and 16 dart legs in one of eight ties overall that was decided by a single leg.

Agar rounded of the impressive individual and team performance with a 3-1 win that contained two legs finished off in just 16 darts.

Dan Brazier's tally of fifteen tons made a massive dent in the score line between Cherry Tree A and Fawn A as his away side won 9-2.

Brazier's teammates Simon Wilbraham showed his class with two maximums and a checkout of 126 that was the best combination of the matchup.

Jordan Heath made it a third 180 for the visitors, which was added to once more by Dave Clemson for the defeated side.

In the individual phase, Brazier's 18 darter in his 3-1 win was followed by another from Wilbraham, which proved more crucial in a 3-2 triumph.

Those two legs were blown out of the water by a fine 15 dart leg for Dave Barton during his 3-0 success that was one of two singles wins for the hosts.

Fifteen tons from Dave Johns and fourteen more by teammate Paul Palmer led Kings Arms' charge to a 7-4 win over Beacon Park.

Johns' total was topped up by a 105 checkout which mean that Paul Hendy's 85 combination had to settle for second best for the Oreston based outfit.

Palmer would've been left stranded on thirteen three figure visits if it wasn't for his maximum whilst Ryan Stone added a three treble turn of his own for the defeated team.

Stone's teammate Jason Smout brought most of the flames when notching thirteen ton plusses including a 140 single visit checkout.

Kieran Harris' tally of twelve tons included the game's only 180, a performance which provided Victory Hammers a catalyst to claim a 7-4 win over Victory Fireballs.

Cam O'Brien netted himself twelve tons for Cherry Tree D but still found himself on the wrong end of a 7-4 defeat as King Billy prevailed.

The 180s in the match were shared as both Kev Lofthouse and Brandon Hartley fired a three treble visit whilst the best finish was from 100 by Andrew Cook.

Victory A were 10-1 winners at Indian Inn as Scott Lawrey top scored with thirteen scores of a ton or more and Lawrey was well supported by Darren Collis who reached ten tons of his own.

Paul Goundry's two maximums was added to by another from Kelvin Rowe whilst Lawrey opened up an entertaining individual phase with a 3-1 win that contained legs in 16 and 17 darts.

Quinton Taylor's impressive 3-0 triumph saw an 18 darter and a 92 checkout whilst Goundry repeated Lawrey's 16 and 17 dart legs during another 3-0 victory.

Rowe's 3-1 win came in the final singles rubber, it was very much a case of save the best until last as a 15 dart leg went the way of the victor.

Nick Bryant and Lee Hellings both reached ten tons each for Cherry Tree C, which gave them a solid platform from which to build an 8-3 success at Firkin Scholar.

The highlights of Hellings total came in the form of a 100 checkout as well as one of the two maximums his teamed plundered on the night.

Nick Miller fired the other whilst Hellings' aforementioned finish was the only effort to better a 74 from Lee Boniface for the defeated side.

The great play at the business end of legs start from the first 'game on' call as Hellings teamed with Miller and Melvyn German (33.38) put away an 801 trebles matchup in just 24 darts.

Bryant's 3-0 success was accented by a leg in 16 darts whilst Hellings checked a leg with a 17 darter during another 3-0 triumph that rounded off a comprehensive performance.

St Levans 10-1 triumph at Duchy was dominated by the scoring prowess of Tex and Anna Pearce who both reached ten tons each.

Their teammate Hayley Brant showed sharpshooting at the business end of one particular leg with a three dart combination out shot of 112.

Three men produced magic for the Octagon in a 10-1 at The Exchange as the great Ralph Lancaster's 180 was added to by fine checkouts from teammates Steve Daley and Jayden Dodd.

Daley's 104 combination was only bettered by a 110 from Dodd whilst the only noteworthy contribution for the defeated team came in the form of a maximum by Jack Gilbert.

A 6-5 win for Tradesmans over Bar Mez was eventually settled by Andy Waters 3-0 win in the final singles rubber.

Waters' teammate Kevin Evans showed one moment of brilliance with a 110 kill in a game that saw the hosts recover from 4-1 down to pinch the triumph.
