In The Shadow Of The Glenn

Glenn Halford fired three maximums on his way to thirteen ton plusses during Bluebird B's 8-3 Monday Premier League success over Cherry Tree B.

Nick Perring's 96 checkout for the Compton outfit was the best of the match whilst Glenn Austin acquitted himself well for the successful side.

Austin added a fourth 180 for his team of the matchup to a thirteen ton haul of his own to round off an excellent night for the hosts.

Mike Whatley was a sixteen ton hitter for Cherry Tree A but still found himself on the wrong end of an 8-3 defeat as the Pennycross team were downed 8-3 by Octagon A.

Whatley's tally was ticked over to that mark by one of the four maximums in the game whilst teammate Paul Freeman was also in good nick with eleven ton plusses and Matt Nicholson ended on ten tons.

Whatley faced Paul Palmer in the individual phase with the former coming out on top during an epic battle in which no leg went beyond seven visits.

Whatley put on 15 and 17 darters in that game in riposte to a 17 dart leg from Palmer whilst the defeated party added one of his team's three maximums during that loss to a ten ton personal haul.

Lee Hellings' brace of three treble visits added to a thirteen ton tally whilst Paul Hendy made it a sextet of players to reach double figures for tons in the match with ten of his own.

Hellings got the better of Freeman in the individuals by a 3-2 score line as Hellings 17 dart leg was crucial in beating his opponent who bagged himself a leg in 18.

Tradesmans continued their strong start to their title defence with an 8-3 win over Indian Inn as Lee Agar stole the show thanks to a thirteen ton personal tally.

Agar was supported well throughout the match by Simon Washington who would've been stranded on nine tons if it wasn't for two maximums and a 112 checkout that ticked his tally over to the twelve mark.

Mike O'Brien made it three 180s for the Stonehouse outfit whilst the only three treble visit for the visitors from Stoke Village team came from the arm of Danny Bull.

Despite some good scoring, Agar was dispatched 3-2 by Harry Bull with one of the two legs Agar succeeded in put away in 16 darts.

Washington also found himself on the wrong end of a 3-2 defeat to a Bull as Danny Bull got the win in spite of a 17 dart leg from the defeated party.

Zak Smith heard scores of a ton or more called on no fewer than twelve occasions but still found himself on the wrong end of an 8-3 defeat as King Billy were victorious.

Smith's teammate Nick Furneaux added his team's only maximum whilst Scott Cook put on one for the home side during a fine singles win.

Cook was a 3-1 winner thanks in part to legs in 17 and 16 darts whilst Andrew Cook added a leg in 16 as he went one better than his brother with a 3-0 win.

A 7-4 win for Octagon B over Bluebird A was lit up by two 180s and three ton plus checkouts as Chris Edgecombe contributed to both of those stats.

Edgecombe's 180 was joined by one from Paul Barclay whilst at 102 kill from the former had to settle for third best in the contest.

Stuart Couling's 120 combination out shot narrowly bettered a 118 from teammate Owen Cook for the defeated side.

Sean Taylor's 13 darter for Legends Lounge came in a 3-1 singles win during a 6-5 home success over Victory, which also saw Lewis Byrne added highlights to the party.

Byrne checked in 16 darts during one of the legs in a 3-0 individual triumph and also showed his finishing prowess with an 84 kill that was the best of all thirty checkouts
