Ian Gives Victory Heggie Breaky Hearts

Thirteen tons in the Steve Chapman 501 League from Ian Heggie helped the Indian Inn to a 6-5 triumph over Victory D that ebbed and flowed all evening.

Heggie was one of three maximum hitters in the singles phase of play as Mark Hatherley and Jack Botterill added one each.

Heggie wasn't just about scoring as he also added crucial legs of 18 and 11 darts during a 3-2 individual win which put his team 4-1 up with five to play.

The Honicknowle side roared back with three of the next four rounded off by a 3-2 victory for Maria O'Brien over Hatherley.

The topsy-turvy tie ended with Hatherley sat on ten tons for his evening's work whilst O'Brien threw nine of her twelve ton haul during the victory that was decided by a 15 dart leg.

With the scores left nicely poised at 5-5, Bottertill to his chances to get his team over the line with a 3-0 triumph.

Antony Hayman top scored for the King Billy with thirteen three figure scores in a 7-4 win for his team in their trip to Bar Mez.

Paul Tackle was in good form for the defeated team with an eleven ton haul that was accented by a 104 checkout.

That finish was bettered by a 130 kill from Ken Stowell that took the high checkout of the week across all fixtures played.

Scott Cook was also in good nick for the visitors as he put ten scores of a ton or more onto the scoreboard as well as a leg in 17 during his 3-1 success.

The two 180s in the match were shared as Scott Town's effort was matched by a maximum from Andrew Cook in his 3-1 win.

Thirteen ton plusses from Scott Lawrey stole the show for Victory A as they dismantled St Levans 9-2 with Lawrey providing two of the five maximums put onto the scoreboard during the evening.

Kelvin Rowe and Quinton Taylor added further efforts whilst Mike Pearce provided his team with a sole maximum on his way to eleven ton plusses.

Paul Goundry was also in good form for the Honicknowle team with ten tons; a total that was rounded off with a 117 kill.

That checkout bettered a 112 from teammate Paddy Archibald which certainly wasn't the end of the impressive finishing during the match.

Lawrey added an 18 dart leg in his 3-1 success whilst Pearce (28.90) impressed in the singles phase with legs of 17 and 13 darts helping him to a 3-0 triumph.

Fawn B edged eight points clear in the title race after an 11-0 win over local rivals Fawn A that saw Neil White top score with thirteen three figure scores.

White's 100 checkout was beaten by teammate John Mann who added a kill of 117 to his ten ton haul for the night.

Mann (27.33) was one of three players for the leaders that managed a 16 darter in their singles; adding another in 18 to that great leg.

White won his 16 dart leg in a 3-2 triumph whilst Fred Goldsmith got the better of his opponent with a leg in 16 of his own.

All three were beaten to the least number of darts honours by a critical 15 darter in Lee Hellings' 3-2 success that helped his team to the whitewash win.

Both Dave Algar and Dave Johns continue to put on a show for the Kings Arms every time they turn out with the pair reaching eleven tons a piece in the team's 9-2 win over Octagon.

Paul Hendy and Simon Washington added to that power scoring with ten tons each with Washington providing the only maximum of the match for his team.

Washington continued his remarkable form in the singles with legs of 18 and 17 darts helping towards a 3-1 singles triumph.

On a poor night for the defeated Stonehouse team, Dave Pethick added their only noteworthy contribution with a 15 dart leg in a 3-1 defeat to Algar.

Cleo Trelease showed the form that has made her one of the best ladies in Plymouth as she added a maximum and a 15 dart leg during Victory Hammers 7-4 win over Duchy Of Cornwall.

Despite ending on the wrong side of a narrow defeat, Wayne Davis still had time to add some moments of brilliance with a 180 and checkout of 97 being the two main highlights.

Two maximums from Mark Shears and a 100 finish from teammate Danny Allen were the best moments of a 10-1 win for title chasing Victory C over the league's bottom team; Firkin Doghouse.

The Allen checkout was one of three big checkouts as Allen's previous 91 finish joined an 84 from Tom James in the match.
