Hellings Joint Top Mann In Premier
Whilst the concluding two weeks of the Monday Premier League didn't see the league table alter much, the individual table saw two significant movers at the very top end of the standings.
Lee Hellings (28.36) joined John Mann on 65 points from a possible 66 after a 3-0 success in a dramatic 6-5 win for second placed Octagon A at home to Colebrook.
Hellings checked legs in 14 and 15 darts to claim a share of the top individual prize and finished his night on ten tons; a win that also gave the team a 6-5 win in the eleventh tie of the contest.
Teammate Jayden Dodd was prominent with ten ton plusses of his own whilst Hellings teamed with Sean Burkitt to nail a 601 leg in just 19 darts.
Zak Smith (28.90) was prominent for the defeated side with eleven tons and also won his individual 3-0 thanks to legs in 15 and 17 darts, as well as a 118 checkout.
Smith's teammates Dan Giles and Nick Furneaux both added 180s to the affair with a third maximum coming from Paul Hendy for the official runners-up.
King Billy B saw Scott Cook dramatically secure a 3-2 win in the singles phase to claim third spot in that particular ranking during a 7-4 team win over Cherry Tree A.
Cook ended on eleven tons in the match and 63 individual points for the season whilst the man he defeated, Mike Whatley, bagged ten three figure scores and teammate Matt Nicholson checked 109 in three darts.
Colebrook finished nestled in tenth spot after they concluded their season with a 7-4 win over Bluebird B, who had both Lee Roberts and Glenn Halford in decent nick.
Roberts checked 109 for the best finish of the matchup whilst Halford contributed the game's only maximum and a 16 dart leg in his 3-0 individual success.
