Grimshaw As The Driven Snow

Jordan Grimshaw provided a brace of 180s as St Johnston A kept their title hopes going for another week thanks to a 12-1 win over King Billy in the Plymouth and District Friday Darts League.



Fellow youngster and teammate Kieran Burns also reached ten tons in the win whilst the Keyham side also claimed the least number of darts prize with a 39 dart 1001 doubles game.


The only noteworthy contribution to the proceedings for the defeated Devonport side was a maximum from Ant Pearn whilst Andrew Nation chalked up the team's only point in the final singles.



Tradesmans A's lead of sixteen points is still in tact as they matched their rivals 12-1 scoreline with a win against bottom team Grenville as Mike O'Brien notching ten tons.


O'Brien smashed in one of three 180s for his team with Luke Johnson and Nick Dodd also firing whilst Harry Harrison chalked a solitary maximum for the defeated St Judes team.



Individual leader Mark Hatherley hit a maximum and the highest checkout of the week with a 77 kill in Indian's 8-5 defeat to Octagon.


Simon Washington and Dave Wyatt both ploughed in maximums for the victors as they asserted their superiority in 180s as well as the overall score.



Del Bryce bagged two maximums in St Johnston B's 7-6 defeated against Queens Arms with Sean Taylor hitting another for the losing side.


With the scores locked at 6-6 after a topsy-turvy contest, Colin Moses stepped up in the final game to give his team the spoils with a last leg deciding win.



Richard Lynch showed his undoubted class with a maximum to help his Kings Tamerton Community Centre side defeat Steampacket by a 10-3 scoreline.
