Frank Reality Of Stout's Class

Frankie Stout fired no fewer than seventeen ton plusses for Cherry Tree C in a Plymouth City Super League Division A derby day win against Cherry Tree A by an 8-3 score line.

Stout's total was topped off by two of the four maximums in the match as the man that defeated Stout in the individuals, Quinton Taylor added one of two for the designated 'home' side.

Taylor's three treble visit ticked his ton total over to the eleven mark whilst teammate Rick Trinder found the other 180 in the game.

Stout was well supported in the win by Nathan Langdon who showed his undoubted class with ten tons whilst there was a number of highlights at the business end of proceedings.

Trinder's 97 checkout was only bettered by Langdon's teammate Dan Jewell who heard 'game shot' called at the first time of asking from 99.

Trinder and Nick Miller teamed in the 601 doubles to produce a 17 dart leg in a 2-1 defeat whilst Langdon added a 17 darter over the 501 distance in his 3-0 triumph.

Indian B had Mark Shears in good nick with twelve tons, including two 180s helped his team to a 7-4 win over Bluebird B.

Shears was supported well by Paul Gavican who nailed ten tons overall whilst, as the score line suggests, it wasn't all one way traffic.

Owen Cook top scored for the defeated team with twelve tons of his own and teammate Nige Bassett also had his scoring boots on with eleven ton plusses.

Shears 15 darter proved crucial in a 3-2 win over Wayne Oddie who took one of those legs with a 72 combination out.

Oddie's effort had to settle for the bridesmaid's position in the high checkout honours as Jon Parsons bagged himself a 78 to take a 3-2 win of his own.

James Stoodley ended his night on twelve tons but still found himself on the wrong end of a 7-4 loss as Bluebird A were downed by Indian A.

Stoodley's team produced all of the notable moments in the match as a Dale Halford 17 dart leg helped him to a 3-1 win whilst John Merrifield finished 98 at the first time of asking for the biggest checkout of the night.

An 11-0 white wash win for King Billy over Clifton was dominated by the scoring of Tony Tasker who added ten tons for his night's work.

Tasker's teammate Paddy Archibald added his team's only maximum whilst all of the other highlights came in a superb last singles game between Niall McGarvey and Mark Yeoman.

McGarvey found himself on the wrong end of the 3-2 loss despite a 180 and two 17 darters with one of those finished off in a two dart combo of 94.

Yeoman's 113 checkout proved crucial in deciding the outcome of that particular individual rubber, as well as allowing his Devonport team to preserve all eleven points on offer.

The highest checkout of the week came from the arm of Kayleigh Adams with a 120 kill during a Steampacket Devonport derby win over Ker St by a 9-2 score line.

Adams' finished pushed George Beckett's 80 checkout into second place and Phil Taylor checked 78 in a single visit to make it a trio of decent finishes for the visitors.

Beckett's combination came in a 3-0 individual success that also contained an 18 darter that was the best leg of the contest.
