For Evans Sake!

Kevin Evans (26.37) plundered a brace of 17 dart legs in a phenomenal 3-0 win for Tradesmans during a 9-2 success over Bluebird in the Steve Chapman 501 League.

In amongst that beautifully crafted individual success was one of the five maximums that were chalked up between the two teams.

Much like the score line, Evans' team dominated the maximum statistic as his teammate Jordan Grimshaw added two 180s to a fourth for the team by Lewis Byrne.

Alan Masters found the other three treble visit of the game with a solitary effort for his defeated Compton side whilst Evans heroics were not to be curtailed to the singles phase of play.

Evans teamed with Grimshaw to put away 601 points in 23 darts twice in a row for a 2-0 win that gave the Stonehouse outfit a 4-1 lead going into the sextet of singles.

Byrne's aforementioned maximum was one of eleven scores of a ton or more individually but he didn't end up at the top scoring player in the match.

That accolade went to Masters' teammate Jack McMinn who added a game high checkout of 113 to his thirteen ton tally.

McMinn's combination outshot came in a 3-1 singles win that was the only one secured by his visitors with other highlights in that success coming in the form of two 18 dart legs.

Andrew Cook's performance was the shining light of a number of excellent displays during a 10-1 win for King Billy at Indian Inn.

Cook (26.37) put away his 3-0 individual success in superb fashion with a 17 darter his best effort and also walked away from the oche with twelve tons to his name.

One of those was a 150 checkout that narrowly bettered a 114 from Frankie Stout who ended his night on ten scores of a ton or more.

Cook and Stout were the only names in the 180 section of the results sheet with a trio of efforts being shared two to one in Cook's favour.

Cook's leg in 17 was only bettered by a 16 darter from teammate Antony Hayman who notched that in another 3-0 win.

Despite the one sided nature of the score line, the top scorer in the matchup came from the home side as Mark Hatherley put up thirteen scores of a ton or more.

Hatherley's 17 dart leg in a 3-2 defeat by Stout gave him the best leg of his cohort whilst Ian Heggie showed his scoring prowess with eleven three figure scores.

Scott Lawrey's fifteen scores of a ton or more led Victory A to a notable 6-5 win over one of their main rivals in the battle for third in the standings, Cherry Tree C.

Lawrey's teammate Kelvin Rowe added one of the two maximums in the match before Paul Goundry showed coolness under pressure with a 3-0 win with the scores tied at 5-5 going into the final singles rubber.

Dave Lee showed two moments of class for the defeated side with his team's only maximum adding to a 148 checkout that was the best of the contest.

Nick Bryant was the other individual winner for the defeated side and he did so with some aplomb as legs in 16 and 17 darts took him to a 3-0 win.

An 11-0 win for title chasing Fawn B over Victory Fireballs was led by the scoring of Lee Agar who put up fourteen scores of a ton or more overall, including a 100 finish.

AJ Brunton could count himself unlucky to end on the wrong side of the heavy loss after ploughing home fourteen tons of his own.

Thirteen of those efforts came in five legs of singles, which was narrowly lost to ten ton man Simon Washington 3-2.

Washington had to settle for third best in the scoring stakes for his team as Andy Bates netted a 100 checkout and a maximum on his way to thirteen ton plusses.

Bates' checkout didn't reach the dizzy heights of John Mann's 155 combination that took the prize for the best checkout of the match, and the week across all ten fixtures played.

The business end of legs was equally as dazzling as the scoring phase as Mann and Agar put together a 601 leg in 15 darts during their 2-0 win.

Bates and his teammate Jaden Whitting completed one doubles leg in 19 darts during another 2-0 success and the world class action continued in the individual phase.

Bates added an 18 darter to his leg in 17 during a 3-0 win whilst Agar was another 3-0 winner thanks in part to 16 and 17 dart legs.

Mann was equally as clinical as Bates in his 3-0 win when matching his 18 and 17 dart efforts to bring to an end proceedings in emphatic fashion.

Paul Palmer led the way in the scoring phase of play for Kings Arms with fourteen scores of a ton or more to give his Oreston side the platform to secure a 6-5 win over Octagon.

Jayden Dodd was influential for the defeated team with twelve tons whilst teammate Alfie Ford ended his night on ten ton plusses.

A match that saw the lead change hands five times in total almost certainly had to come down to a last leg decider, and it was Alec Turner that duly delivered.

The last of Turner's ten tons in the matchup came in the final leg of his 3-2 win with a 106 checkout ending what was a closely fought battle between two excellent teams.

Fourteen scores of a ton or more rained down from the arm of Mike Pearce but that contribution, and twelve more tons by Tex Pearce, could not arrest St Levans slide to a 9-2 loss at Cherry Tree A.

Tex Pearce was the only individual winner and he had to work hard for his win with a 17 darter coming in a 3-1 triumph.

Dan Brazier conquered Mike Pearce on the night and a 118 checkout that was one of eleven tons overall helped him to a 3-1 success over his Devon teammate.

Brazier's teammate Mike Tucker also showed some prowess with the only maximum of a brilliant win for the Pennycross outfit against a top side.

180s from Sean Burkitt and Mark Hempsall gave Fawn A a platform to take an 8-3 success from their visit to Cherry Tree D.

Neil Reid stole the show for Bar Mez in their 7-4 win over Victory Hammers with twelve tons, a 92 checkout, and legs in 17 and 18 darts.

Reid's teammates Tom Full and Mike Bulmer added 180s whilst Cobie Harris fired a three treble visit of his own for the only effort of it's kind by the away side.

An 11-0 whitewash for leaders Cherry Tree B over Ivybridge CC saw both Scott Wapshott and Mike Whatley lead the way in the scoring phase with ten tons each.

Their teammate Phil Hoyle also showed his ability with a maximum whilst the only moment of magic from the defeated seid came from the arm of Paul Bowden who nailed a 104 checkout in one of three legs his team won.

A 17 darter by Fletcher Stephens was the highlight of a topsy-turvy 6-5 defeat for Stephens' Duchy against Beacon Park.

Jason Smout was the hero of the hour in the final individual game as he won a last leg decider 3-2 with the scores previously tied at 5-5.
