Dave Saves Fawn Title Tilt

A sixteen ton salvo by Dave Roberts lit up the Plymouth City Super League Division B as Roberts' Fawn A team secured a 6-5 victory against Victoria.

Roberts title chasers recovered from 3-2, 4-3 and 5-4 down to win in the final possible leg as Roberts won what could be a crucial eleventh and final rubber 3-2.

The man that pushed Roberts all the way, Gary Eaton, showed his class throughout the match with a 116 checkout and one of two maximums his team managed.

Will Collard was the other 180 hitter in the contest whilst Eaton's checkout was sandwiched between two other notable combination out shots.

Roberts' teammate Mike Trim put up a 70 kill whilst the best single visit combo came from the arm of Eaton's stablemate Mick Bingham who nailed a 120.

AJ Brunton's eleven ton haul included no fewer than three 180s, but that form wasn't enough to stop Victory from falling to a 6-5 loss at Hyde Park.

Checkouts of 90 and 72 from Bob Wood and Lee Dennis helped the home team's cause whilst Dennis also added his team's only three treble visit.

Matt Nicholson added a 180 to his ten ton haul but still found himself on the wrong end of a 6-5 defeat as Kings Tamerton B were downed by Cherry Tree D.

Nicholson headlined the finishing part of the game for his team with a 75 checkout that was only bettered by Carter's stablemate Tel Lane.

Five 180s were shared between Legends Lounge and Cherry Tree B in an 8-3 win for the former as Simon Wilbraham and Tony Reid added a brace each to Paul Hoare's solitary effort.

Kings Arms A first the lion's share od four maxis but succumb to Duchy A 6-5 as Ryan Ring won the last singles rubber 3-1 to claim the win.

Colin Sloman, Pete Dunbar and Mike Sant all added to Duchy's solitary 180 that came from Nick Bromley whilst Sant and Sloman both also shone at the business end of legs.

Sant added a 16 darter in his 3-0 win whilst the best checkout of all thirty-four in the matchup came from the arm of Sloman who nailed 80 in a single visit to the board.

John Brady's 119 three dart combination out shot couldn't arrest Fawn B's slide to a 7-4 defeat in their visit to Kings Tamerton A.
