Dare Force One

Lewis Dare's outrageous nineteen ton personal tally led Legends Lounge to a healthy 9-2 win over Kings Tamerton B in Plymouth City Super League's Division B.

Dare propped his impressive total up with two of the three maximums in the game, as well as the biggest finish of the week in the section of 122.

Despite the mammoth scoring, Paul Freeman bested Dare in the singles with a 14 darter crucial in a 3-2 win that also saw Freeman check 85 and nail his team's only maximum on his way to twelve tons overall.

Tex Pearce lit up the scoreboard with thirteen three figure visits but still found himself on the wrong end of a 6-5 defeat as St Levans were downed by Cherry Tree B in a final leg shootout.

Logan Carroll was the man responsible for that success with a 3-2 final individual win with the scores tied at 5-5 guided home by what turned out to be a crucial 114 checkout.

Carroll also added a 104 combination out to his evening's work whilst the best finish for the visitors came from the arm of Hayley Brant who heard 'game shot' called at the first time of asking from 75.

Early leaders in Division B are Fawn B who demolished Keyham Vaults 9-2 with the Greenbank outfit's best coming from Mark Sargeant's maximum who made it two 180s in two games.

Just two points off the pace are Hyde Park after an 8-3 success at Duchy B who had Adam Edworthy and Wayne Pike contributing with a 79 checkout and maximum respectively.

Victory got their first win of the campaign with a solid 7-4 win over Kings Tamerton A that saw a 180 a piece for each side.

Lee Soper fired a three treble riposte to Chris Beale's effort for the victors whilst two mid range checkouts contributed to the entertaining affair.

Soper's teammate Joseph Honeywill added a 93 single visit kill that was only bettered by Phil Ingram's 100 combination that proved critical in a 3-2 win for the latter over the former.

Victoria got their season up and running with a solid 8-3 win over Duchy A that saw three men light up the oche with moments of magic.

Brian Gourland's 3-1 individual win saw one of the two maximums in the game as Fletcher Stephens added the other whilst Gourland's teammate Steve Williams put away 75 in just one visit to the board.

Fawn A started their life in Division B after a bye in the first week and the team showed why they'll be amongst the title favourites with four class checkouts in an 8-3 win at Kings Arms A.

Dave Roberts had to settle for third and fourth best with finishes of 82 and 96 whilst Mark Hempsall's 108 checkout was only bettered by teammate Dave Pethick who nailed a three dart combo of 116.

The home side contributed to the affair with Darran Bailey's maximum joined by a 72 checkout from the evergreen Colin Sloman who continues to show his class for the Oreston side.
