Dan Leads Plymouth's Top Braz

Dan Brazier won the Legends Lounge Premier League 3 in the most dramatic fashion after two wins and the narrowest of losses against title rival Andrew Cook gave him enough points to win the league on leg difference.

A 7-0 win over Lisa Hellings included a 104 checkout and a 7-6 loss against Andrew Cook in which Brazier added a 180 left him needing any positive in the final game.

Brazier duly delivered with a 7-3 victory, which assured top spot, which also guarantees both Cook and Brazier spots amongst the top three seeds in the end of season competition.

All forty-eight competitors will be sorted into one league for the showpiece event players one to sixteen guaranteeing their place and the final thirty-two needing a preliminary round before entering the main draw.

The only player that could wrestle top spot from Brazier is John Mann who is the only unbeaten player in the overall event after a 7-0 triumph against Warren Page, a win that was accented with two three treble visits.

Mann will have the opportunity to complete the unbeaten season against Dave Lee who still needs three legs to make the overall top sixteen after a 7-3 loss to Paul Palmer.

Palmer added a 180 and a 108 finish in that tie and goes into the final's night in either fifth or sixth seed depending on the outcome of Lee's battle with Mann.

Kelly Burkitt will finish bottom of the pile after a 7-0 loss against confirmed tenth seed Jayden Dodd that saw the victor claim a 106 checkout alongside a 180.

Chrissie Kinnaird's potential late run to the top sixteen was stopped in it's tracks by Dodd and Dan Giles who both secured 7-1 and 7-2 respective wins against her.

Giles nailed a maxi in his win over the Cornwall county player who could still improve her ranking with three games to play in the final week.

One of Kinnaird's opponents is Maria O'Brien who will need a win in the final week, and Lee to fail in his quest to claim a place within the sixteen elite, to qualify herself after O'Brien's 7-2 victory against Chris Adams.

Chris Edgecombe finished second in Legends Lounge Premier League 1 and at least fifth when the leagues are combined after his 7-0 win over Dave Reed that saw a 117 three dart combination out.

Edgecombe pips Wapshott to second despite a 7-0 success for him over Giles that included a maxi for the successful party.

Lee Hellings won the Premier League 1 divisional title with a 180 during a 7-0 win against Steve Mills who himself will be sweating on his position in the finals comp after finishing sixteenth.

Tex Pearce ended as part of the elite sixteen and fifth in the Premier League 1 standings after a 7-0 win over John Woolven-Allen.

Gary Clarke got the best of Josh Furneaux 7-2 and both will compete in the preliminary stage whilst Lee Hunter and Robbie Aitken both showed moments of class in a 7-5 win for the former.

Aitken set about his opponent with checkouts of 146 and 123 but a brace of 180s for Hunter helped him retain his higher standing than Aitken in the divisional and overall standings.

Hunter suffered 7-2 reverse at the hands of reigning champion Frankie Stout who has the last guaranteed last 32 spot on final's night.

The strength in depth of the competition was proven in a game between two players that could not reach the top sixteen going into the final week.

Simon Wilbraham's 128 checkout and 180 proved crucial in despatching Sarah Brown, who had a 102 checkout of her own in the narrow 7-6 loss.

Wilbraham added two more maximums in a 7-3 win over James Ewing who suffered a second defeat of the night in a 7-4 defeat against Lewis Byrne.

James Nicholls qualified comfortably inside the top sixteen and third in Premier League 2 thanks to a 7-0 win over Reece Mealin who heads to the cut throat preliminary round.

Neil White joins Nicholls in that stage as a representative from Premier League 3 after his comfortable 7-3 win over Nick Furneaux who claimed fifth in his division but still missed out on a spot amongst the elite.

Liam Taylor picked up a couple of wins that moved him the right direction in the spots outside of the top sixteen.

A 7-5 success for Taylor over Sean Burkitt was followed by a 7-2 triumph against Lisa Hellings, which included a 180 for the victor.

The highest checkout of the season was missed by just a solitary point as Tommy Graham bagged himself a 160 combination in a 7-4 triumph over Reece Goves.
