Champions Lead From Dusk Until Fawn
Andy Bates' fourteen ton plusses fired Fawn B to the Steve Chapman 501 League title as an 8-3 win over King Billy means they can no longer be caught at the top.
Bates was well supported by John Mann who put thirteen three figure scores onto the scoreboard in the win whilst Dave Matthews was also prominent with twelve.
Matthews total was accented by a 160 checkout that claimed the highest of both the match and the week's fixtures overall.
The Greenbank side's superiority extended to the maximum hitting as Mann's brace was joined by efforts from teammates Bates, Matthews, Lee Agar and Jaden Whitting.
Frankie Stout made it seven 180s for the evening with his team's solitary three treble visit that ticked his personal ton tally over to the ten mark.
Agar and Bates also showed their sharpshooting in a 601 doubles win in just 16 darts before the fireworks continued well into the singles phase.
Bates netted himself a 15 darter in his 3-1 win whilst Mann added two 15 darters but still found himself on the wrong end of a 3-2 defeat.
Andrew Cook was Mann's conqueror as he added a 13 darter before brother and teammate Scott Cook checked legs in 18 and 17 darts during his 3-0 triumph.
Fifteen ton plusses from Tex Pearce lit up a thoroughly entertaining 8-3 defeat for St Levans at the hands of runners-up, Victory C.
Mike Pearce matched his teammate and brother's tally of fifteen tons of his own with two maximum garnered to Tex Pearce's one.
Paul Gavican's fourteen three figure scores provided the catalyst for the win for the visitors whilst Mark Shears supported well in his bridesmaid role with thirteen three figure scores.
Scott Wapshott netted himself ten tons as well whilst Shears was joined by teammates Jason Pinkerton and Phil Hoyle as the three 180 hitters for the visitors.
All three of the ton plus out shots were plundered by the victors as Wapshott's 102 settled for third best behind a 104 from Pinkerton and a 120 combination by Billy Evans.
A remarkable individual phase was started off by Tex Pearce hitting a 14 darter in a 3-2 triumph over Paul Gavican who himself heard game shot called after throwing just 17 darts.
Evans was a 3-0 winner thanks in part to a leg in 15 whilst Devon teammates Mike Pearce and Shears tore shreds off of each other in empathic fashion.
Pearce was a 3-2 winner with his two 18 darters proving enough to get the better of his county stablemate who mailed an 18 dart leg of his own in defeat.
Four members of the Cherry Tree side were in vintage form as they defeated Indian Inn 11-0; most prominent of which was Dan Brazier who heard scores of a ton or more called no fewer than fourteen times.
Danny Perryman and Lewis Dare both added eleven tons each whilst James Ewing was in good nick with ten ton plusses in the whitewash out win.
Brazier and teammate Luke Beard were the two maximum hitters in the match whilst James Ewing's 90 checkout was the best mustered by all twelve on display.
Brazier and Beard also shared the achievement of hitting 16 dart legs in their respective 3-2 and 3-1 individual successes.
Tony Tasker heard scores of a ton or more called no fewer than twelve times in a 10-1 derby day win for Victory A over the Victory Hammers.
Tasker's exploits extended to the finishing phase of play as he paired with Scott Lawrey (33.39) to put away two 601 doubles legs in 17 and 19 darts.
Lawrey went on to bag his team's only maximum in the match whilst teammate Quinton Taylor checked 120 in a single visit.
Whilst unsuccessful in gathering points on the night, the Hammers still managed to outscore their opponents in the 180 stakes as both James King and Kieran Harris secured three treble visits for their team.
Fawn A bettered Ker St 8-3 despite Lewis Byrne adding ten tons to the scoreboard and Helen Stone checking the best finish of the evening with a 97 kill.
Paul Palmer's ten ton haul in Kings Arms 7-4 win over Bar Mez came with no fewer than three of the seven maximums.
Remarkably, Dave Johns repeated the exact same feat in the match as he also nailed a trio of 180s on his way to a dectet of three figure scores.
A seventh maximum was plundered in the contest by Paul Tackle who put the defeated Torpoint side's only three treble visit onto the score sheet.
Jordan Heath checked a leg at the first time of asking from 116 but still found himself on the wrong end of an 8-3 defeat to Robbie Bisgrove's Octagon, who himself nailed a maximum.
