Champions Crowned In Open League

King Billy A claimed the league title in the Plymouth Open League Division A after a 9-2 win means they hold an unassailable lead with one game still to play.

James Ewing's 180 in the win over Ker St B was the only moment of magic for the team that were only formed two years ago who took the Division B crown in 2021-22.

Unless St Levans perform miracles in their final two games, Lugger will end as runners-up in the league after a 9-2 win over Mainstone.

Simon Wilbraham hit his team's only maximum for the team who are twenty-one points ahead of the Keyham outfit with twenty-two left to play.

Mainstone need to avoid an 11-0 defeat to Ker St B in their final game to fend off the unlikely threat of relegation whilst the latter need three points to avoid the wooden spoon.

The St Levans themselves hit two maximums in their 7-4 success over Falstaff A with Keith Carter and Nick Bryant contributing an effort each.

Ralph Lancaster's 74 checkout was the main highlight of a 7-4 win for Ker St C over Cherry Tree B which keeps them in with a shout of pipping their opponents to third in the final standings.

An 8-3 success for St Johnston B over Ker St D wasn't enough to claim the Division C title after St Johnston A were gifted an 11-0 by Half Moon to hand them the championship without a dart being thrown.

Jolly Miller got only their fifth success of the campaign with a 9-2 success over Queens Dock which saw Dennis Moore finishing from 102 and Mike Pacey checking 107 in a single visit.

In Division B, Neil White chalked up twelve ton plusses and legs of 16 and 18 darts in a 9-2 win over Cherry Tree A that keeps Victory top of the league after their last game has been played.

Teammates Quinton Taylor and Adam Hill hit a 75 checkout and maximum respectively to help keep hopes of a league title alive with the Honicknowle team guaranteed to go up either way.

A 10-1 win for Ker St A over rock bottom local rivals King Billy B means the former will need to overcome second placed St Johnston C by a double figures win to claim second in the standings.

Alan Brady hit a maximum for the Railway but still ended up on the wrong side of an 11-0 drubbing as St Johnston C kept their title hopes alive.

After Jonathan Easterbrook's maximum and Matt Piotrowski's 86 out, the Keyham side need any win to claim the divisional title.
