Burns Earns St Johnston A Vital Points

Kieran Burns reached as many as thirteen three figure scores as St Johnston A whitewashed Tradesmans B 13-0 in the Plymouth & District Friday Darts League to keep their title hopes alive and kicking.

Ben Webb joined Jordan Grimshaw (27.05) in hitting a 180 in the match with the latter also securing a 72 checkout and the lowest game of the week of 37 darts.

The win keeps the Keyham team in touching distance of leaders Tradesmans A thanks to a game in hand that may bridge the thirteen point gap between the two.

Mike O'Brien was most prominent for the Stonehouse team in a 12-1 win over St Johnston B with ten three figure scores.

The only point of the match for the Keyham side, which may prove pivotal in the final title reckoning, came from Dan Cole's 100 checkout; the highest recorded finish across all six fixtures.

Des Dugdale's 98 checkout and 180s from teammates Lee Gillard and Mike Parker helped Pennycross belie their third from bottom league position to secure a 7-6 win over fifth placed Kings Tamerton.

Ryan Ring hit a maximum in a 38 dart 1001 doubles game with Matt Abbott (26.34) that was one of a 10-3 win for the King Billy against Octagon.

John Anderson's 180 couldn't stop the Steampacket going down to a 9-4 defeat against the Indian with Mark Hatherley continuing his impressive individual form that keeps him atop of the individual standings.

Mainstone were another team to win in double figures as they defeated bottom side Grenville by a 10-3 scoreline to move them onto the cusp of the top half.
