Burns Earns Plaudits
Youngster Kieran Burns (29.44) showed his class with a 34 dart singles win in the Plymouth and District Friday Darts League.
However, St Johnston A's title challenge may be stuttering slightly after only claiming a 7-6 win over Indian Inn that leaves them sixteen behind with one game in hand.
Individual leader Mark Hatherley avoided a potential banana skin before by winning his game as Jordan Grimshaw brought home the win in his singles with the scores tied at 6-6.
Burns had to share the least number of darts for the week prize with Andy Newman (29.44) who replicate the 34 dart feat in a 9-4 loss for the Ker St against Devonport rivals King Billy.
That leg from Newman beat the 'Billy Boyz' 37 dart second trebles win that withstood a maximum from Ker St's Jordan Turner.
Brian Bishop also claimed a maximum in one of three singles wins for the defeated Ker St after a poor start that saw them 6-0 down.
Octagon got the better of St Johnston B by a 7-6 scoreline with Simon Washington the hero of the hour as he checked 92 and won the final tie of a match the Stonehouse team were 5-2 down before a remarkable recovery.
Del Cole chalked up the only maximum in Kings Tamerton's 11-2 defeat of Tradesmans B whilst Andy Tremaine secured the highest checkout of the week with a fine 102 kill in Queens Arms 9-4 win over Pennycross.
Dave Jones checked 75 in one visit for the Mainstone as they secured an 8-5 win over Steampacket who had Dan Clarke hitting a 180 in a singles defeat.
